any detail on combat revamp?
As far as I can tell, it's mostly a difference of stat-distribution and gear bonuses.
It seems like many "sets" either had their bonuses taken out of reduced in favor of players mixing and matching based on individual gear pieces' stats.
Seems to be a lot more gear boosting general damage % instead of just individual elemental damages as well as more things raising crit and whatnot.
Seems like because of the fact that you don't really have to strive for set bonuses that much anymore, crafted gear seems more useful.
Always nice to have crafting not be useless.
Stat distribution got changed too, in a little complicated, but sort of not really, sort of way.
You have 4 categories of stats, let's say A, B, C, and D.
You get one point in one for each level, then you get a point in the next for the next level.
Like...
Level 1 (you begin here, so no point)
Level 2 You get 1 point to spend in category A
Level 3 You get 1 point to spend in cat. B
Level 4 Cat. C
Level 5 Cat. D
Level 6 point for Cat A again
and so on in that order
There's another category for special bonuses like raising your AP/MP/etc, but that one gets points sparingly (first point to spend in that category comes at level 25)
Each category has its own choices of what to spend that point on.
Category A is Intelligence with bonuses like
1. +% Max HP
2. +all resists
3. +regen based on lost HP
4. +bonus to heals received
5. Life steal
I think Category B (Strength) gives you choices of either:
1. ~ 4. Individual Earth/Fire/Wind/Water Resist + General Damage
5. ~ 8 Individual elemental resist + Flat Bonus to Max HP
Cat C (agility) is stuff like
Dodge/Lock/Lock&Dodge/etc
Cat D (Chance) is like
Crit Chance/Crit Damage/Heal Bonus/Back Attack Damage/Back attack resist
The combat itself seems mostly unchanged. Still grid-based turn-based strategy rpg.
Although I have noticed that dungeons now also have Normal Modes and Easy Modes.
Not sure on the exact differences between them, though.
(blah blah blah i ended up writing a lot...)
