okay so I've seen the same video floating around on facebook over and over again
it's this one

it's made by that fear mongering stormcloudsgathering idiot
EBOLA IS NOT FUCKING AIRBORNE
THIS STUDY WAS DONE ON PIGS
PIGS GIVE OFF MORE AEROSOLIZED VIRAL PARTICLES THAN OTHER SPECIES
Monkeys got ebola from pigs for this reason but when the study was
redone using only monkeys
they found that the monkeys couldn't catch the virus without contact with each other.
Ebola is spread by similar means as HIV, but I guarantee none of these people are concerned about getting AIDS.
I'm fucking tired of hearing people freak out about fucking ebola and then ignoring any sources I provide stating otherwise.
"YEAH BUT THIS GUY ON CNN SAID.."

It's no longer as much of an issue as it used to be. The only problem is panic, and people do a wonderful job of creating that at the drop of a hat.

The fear mongering is pretty hardcore right now.
Hey, guys. Wake up. It's 2014. We've already established that the American propaganda networks are full of shit, so turn off your televisions and think for yourselves.

It's like Plague in real life. How exciting. I hope it destroys Greenland and Madagascar.

Just give pigs with h1n1 ebola, see how bad things go from there. While you're at it, give the pigs rabies, potentially start the zombie apocalypse.

i just got sent home early today because someone on my college campus was displaying "ebola like symptoms"
news stations everywhere
student is apparently related to someone who was on the same plane the tx nurse was on, who also got sick
at least something interesting is happening here

I think the bigger scare right now is that the CDC acted on the assumption that it could not spread airborne at all, which was true for previous variants of Ebola.
This one does not behave exactly like the others. It has demonstrated airborne spreading at short range due to sneezing dispersing contaminated body fluids.
The capacity for further evolution exists if it begins to spread through that method more often.
For most people there's nothing to worry about- but the people in charge of quarantining and treating victims of this disease need to really step up the safety protocol or they will get themselves infected and fail to properly contain it.
That's where the real concern should be, the authorities are acting on assumptions that have not been conclusively proven for this particular variant of ebola and should not be cutting corners with containment.
Rather, since they are dealing with a bit of an unknown here, they should instead be going all-out with the maximum possible containment and worker safety procedures in place. Don't start cutting back on such measures until the capabilities of this virus are better understood and we have an effective treatment in place.
