  Basically, what Kaeporo said. People make statements about this kind of thing way too easily based of hearsay or assumptions. These abuse cases are fortunately not a majority, but like I said before, people are more vocal about bad than good, cause it's better drama.
  
  One guy who 'said this' isn't exactly a source than can speak for the entirety of law enforcement in this country, and you can't make blanket assumptions about people based on 'being a soldier' either. Sure, killing people may change someone, but it's massively harsh to just label anyone who's gone through that a danger to society. What exactly is that based on?
  
  This is the same thing that causes issues elsewhere. This country jumps on fear bandwagons based on assumptions. Generalization and assumptions are the source of all inequality we deal with right now.

  How to get away with murder or assault as a cop:
  
  Step one: find someone to beat or murder preferably black
  Make sure you are just out of sight of the dash cam
  Don't worry if there are witnesses unless they're recording and then confiscate their cameras
  Make sure the dash cam voice recording is removed or altered
  
  Step two: write on your police report that they had a weapon or posed a threat to your life so your beating a murder justified it doesn't matter if this is false they will believe your word no matter what because you're a cop who spent like a year in police academy and did some push ups and studied for tests this somehow makes you more believable then the common delinquent.
  
  
  If people try speaking up about this simply offer them money or just ignore them because they'll become old news and just go away anyway .
  If the public outrage become significant just take a leave without pay which is actually great! no work, same pay, whatever I'll probably never face jail time anyway
  If it becomes a nation wide out rage just remember that Republican white people will make T-shirts for you and start a run fundraiser for you so you'll make a ton of money from beating someone!
  
  If you have to go to court just remembered have your defense attorney point out how much of a criminal or scumbag that your victim was have them completely smashed their character and use photos that seem incriminating from their social media accounts

  If we're going by personal experience I have met one cop who wasn't a complete asshole and it was the one I mentioned previously. I've been detained in front of my own house because it was a couple of minutes after curfew for over and hour. Or the time my dad was at a casino drinking and was asked to stop so he sat at the bar and asked for water and he was thrown to the floor because a cop but he was still drinking and then started yelling at him to stop resisting even though he was on his stomach spcompletely still and then tased him and somehow the security footage somehow got wiped but the audio didn't so in court all you heard was "STOP RESISTING STOP RESISTING " *crackling sound*. I've had a few traffic stops and one accident and plenty of check points and they love treating you like dirt. It doesnt matter if you're cooperative and polite theyve treated me like the scum of the earth. I believe cops can be good people but I will probably always hate police along with millions of other people and you can say "B-BUT THERES GOOD ONES" until you're blue in the face but you'll prob never change my mind.

  You were born with the ability to learn and use critical thinking skills in order to adapt and overcome challenges. Instead of shutting down when faced with opposition, you should become excited about the opportunity to learn more about yourself and others. That's how you grow and evolve to better face our world. It's a much better solution than being reduced to a cynic, to be afraid that the world will hurt you, to be paralyzed when afforded the gift of being told that you might be wrong.

I once lived in a trailer park with my mother after she divorced my father. My father paid child support while she took care of my sister and I until he obtained custody when I was in fifth grade. I'm not clueless as to how poverty works; I've experienced police brutality just as I've witnessed spousal abuse, eaten blue box macaroni and cheese, and worn handy-down salvation army clothes. I've lived in countries where people didn't have clean drinking water and cartels stole children off the streets because the police weren't there to stop them.
  
  The key difference is that I evolved. I realized that there was a better life out there and I went after it.

  I can sympathize with poverty because I grew up in a similar enviorent except instead of spousal abuse it was substance abuse. I don't know what else to really say other than thank you and I will drop my ego because you're right.

  It is well-understood that, unfortunately, veterans return from combat deployments psychologically damaged and they are not cared for properly. As a result, they are far more likely to get in trouble with the law, many ending up behind bars. When you put this in context with the fact that in some states, police forces hire primarily war vets, one can see how this could be a cause for concern.

  My uncle wanted to joined the army all his life and since his mom don't let him. He settled to be a cop. I seriously hope my uncle won't become a cop who is like those cops mentioned in the recent media, but yea i feel like these bad cops are being too overpresent because if every story about a cop doing his job right is featured in the news. it will become very boring. That i feel like giving the cops military equipment is a bad idea. I mean do they even have training in thoes military grade stuffs ? Feel like cops should be trained in more nonlethal ways to subdue someone other than just shoot them.

  Law enforcement agencies, unlike military provost, are trained in less-lethal weapons. They're authorized (as an example) to deploy tear gas for riot control. The military cannot deploy chemical agents as that would violate the Hague Conventions of 1899 and 1907. More specifically the principles of military necessity, distinction, and proportionality governed by the Law of Armed Conflict.
  
  The acceptance and deployment of less-lethal weapons lies entirely with each department, with respect to local government objectives. Specialized paramilitary, counterinsurgency, and neighborhood watch programs are typically sourced with a higher arms budget.
