looks better now but still has the hovering thingy, I don't want to mess with the style too much though because I have to remember all these changes to revert them back on nov. 1. I should have just made a new style template but didn't think about it.

Oh, I forgot about the hover style. I'm not home now, replying from my phone, so can't look into that now.

Also, I don't know how vbulletin manages the css but can't you just make a backup of the previous styles? Or just Copy and paste into some file at least to just paste it back when you have to revert.

nah it has some annoying CSS manager where each CSS property is it's own text box to fill in. I can bypass it with a custom CSS file though which is what I did for it this time, but next time I do a event based theme I'm just going to copy the main theme and modify it so I can keep using it in the future.

Oh, that sucks.

As for the hover, you'd have to change two more selectors, but for one more day, I guess it won't matter, it's not that bad anyways, at least it's still readable while hovering.
Also the CSS on this thing is quite bad, I mean, it uses really bad selectors (that also comes from bad HTML) and repeated properties that could be removed by using better selectors.

I find most forums have really over complex html/css. Takes me longer to find where to change things than to actually change it.

I'm looking forward to seeing these projects that attempt to use modern tech to make modern forums platforms; vBulletin is OLD.

Flarum looks the prettiest, and since it's going to be 100% open-source, even better.

Then there's Discourse and NodeBB which are already in functional status, but still early versions.
