Glowing plants made through biologically engineering plants with a chemical found in glowing jellyfish, I think this is very fascinating!
Sadly I don't think this will replace street lights completely, but it'd still be wonderful to have our streets aliened with these.

I don't see them emitting enough light for streets. Then there's the issue of what happens when they die, and how to replace them. They would also be illuminating the streets in green, which won't work either. I imagine it would be quite pricy as well.
So it's a nice idea, but it'd be kind of like using pickles as our new source of power; one step forward and ten steps back.
