Strikes are being planned all over. People are rioting and destroying property of innocent bystanders. Towns are being titled as "uncontrollable". Politicians are fighting among themselves. Etc.
On top of that, A few weeks ago I wanted to look for an SD card and some RAM in a store which I know sells them...or so I thought. Today I went to go check again in other shops after I went to hospital, and there was still nothing.
A lot of stores suddenly no longer sell RAM add-ons, and a lot of the stores that used to sell SD cards suddenly don't have any anymore either. A lot of multimedia sections from supermarkets got removed, and stores that do have them, don't have any USB storages or SD cards anymore, I couldn't even find an SD card in a "specialized" IT shop.
Is my country the only one that seems to be going back in time right now? It's horrible.

Well, all the stuff except for the RAM/SD card problems were bound to happen sooner or later...
As for the computer problems... well. My goodness, somebody's been making some retarded decisions to pull those off of the shelves.

Riots in Belgium? I was surprised, so I looked it up:
Belgian protesters clash with police over pensions and pay
6 November 2014 Last updated at 16:56 GMT
Riot police have fired tear gas and water cannon during clashes with demonstrators as at least 100,000 people marched through Brussels in the first mass protests against government austerity measures.
Protesters overturned cars and threw paving stones and fireworks during the protest against economic reforms that will extend the pension age, contain wages and cut public services.
The government says the austerity measures are essential to keep the budget deficit within European Union constraints.
What a bunch of entitled brats. :( The government should probably cut more than they are proposing. O well.
A tiny bit of good news out of this story:
Belgium: Donations soar for man who lost car in riots
A man whose car was destroyed by anti-austerity protesters has been given the cash to replace it less than a day later, thanks to a crowdfunding website.
moar
The SD card thing is just bizarre. Order one online?

Western Europeans have overall grown too comfortable, definitely including myself. They are forgetting that nowadays' pension age was set at a time when many people didn't even live long enough to receive them. There will obviously have to be some corrections made, especially when people don't get enough kids to sustain pensions in the future, when it's their turn to receive the money their kids are working for. It can at most be postponed.
Not getting an automatical wage raise every year is also not a legbreaker. Not following through with the reforms despite the increasing economical pressure will eventually make the reforms a real legbreaker though. It's like postponing an uncomfortable cancer operation.
I can't comment on the public service cuts since I don't know their nature. Many of them may be bad because they cut away at the fundaments of a working society, such as especially education or infrastructure cuts. But then again that can trigger a real reform of the system currently in effect so it works better or as well but on less money.
I mean obviously the economy will take a hit, that's how losing weight works, you lose weight! But you grow fitter in the long run, replace the fat with muscles. But again, talking about the service cuts, you're gonna have to make sure you jsut lose fat, and not muscles too.

Yeah, I knew about the man who lost his car, I donated some money to that cause myself, told my colleagues and some of them donated some in turn as well. The original goal for that was € 2.000, but they managed to raise just short of 10 times that amount, which will be further divided among other victims of this protest.
I work in the town where the riots happened and it lasted for several hours. Everyone was just staring through the windows hoping it wouldn't get any worse.
The worst thing is that it won't be ending anytime soon, the next protest is going to take place on November 24, in Antwerp. And a lot of the people who are going (or so the news says) said that what happened in Brussels that day was "only a walk" and "they haven't seen anything yet", which only leads people to fear that it's going to be much worse.
Policemen and women are being told to just get a doctor's note and stay home, because during this last riot, a lot of them were injured as well and the major planned to not give a f*** until they all went to confront him about it.
And yeah I'll just order my IT needs online from now on, kinda wish I didn't have to.
