  Stupid is an understatement. There are enough prisoners in the United States as it is. Could find the shit out of them or make it so that if they're caught in a lie they are automatically ineligible to run for any elected position.

  Naivete at its core, you can't base justice on vague storybook morals. Such specifically harsh punishments too; one slip up and the government spends millions of dollars wasting a chunk of your life. Why would anyone want to be a government official with such a ridiculous law? What's next, capital punishment for frowning? I don't see the need to justify this with an argument, but I did anyways.

  We're on all 3, we get lied to by our government, the government is 100% fear mongering warloving assholes, not so much in canada, but most are in the usa on these forums so i'll go by that.
  
  And behind the scenes there's enough brutality to put most warzones to shame.
