Soul star [Elf or human?]

  Hello there, so I have been setting my goal to becoming a Soul star [its a long off end goal so no rushing] but I do want to know, which is better for making a soul Star: Elf or Human?
  
  Elves have the range and magic advantage over humans giving me more dex for puppets and more magic/mana for holy arts
  
  On the other side humans have fair range and a bit of an upper hand in the str department.
  
  So which is best, also some tips or ideas for armor sets? I figure I have to go light so i don't get the dex lost. Also what about other skills? I know Blacksmith talent, warrior talent, and archery talent mastered are a must for the STR and DEX, probably also carpentry mastered.

  If puppetry will be your method of combat, then go human but in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter and just comes down to whether you want to run fast or use lances.
