This post exempts the outdated commerce guides but the other ones have no excuse. Seriously, it pains me to see people starting out with a backpack when you can get a handcart really fast. There are three fast ways to get a handcart without backpacking to my knowledge.
1. Fastest and Easiest: The fighter storyline gives 3k ducats within one or two quests into it. You just have to finish one shadow mission which might prove challenging for those who just started the game. It should be easy since you shouldn't start off as a mercatile anyways.
2. Another way is to go to the Witch's cave in Scathach Beach and go kill the sea trolls in there. The sea trolls there drop decorative seafood which sells for around 2k ducats each These things are pretty strong so I suggest you have to be at least a gold talent in a combat talent to effectively grind them. The easier way is to get a friend to help you kill them (Preferably someone who can kill them fast). Make sure your friend is in your party and set the finish rules to anyone so you two can take turns getting the drop.
3.The last method is to accept the daily commerce quest to kill 15 bandits for 3k ducats. This is really easy since you can just carry enough ducats to spawn rookie bandits. Then you just run around and activating every single bandit ambush until you kill 15 bandits.
Not sure if this counts as a guide, but I hope it helps anyone planning on making a beginner's guide for commerce.

Outlaw hunting also gives ducats in the form of badges and the end reward.

Thanks, I completely forgot about that.I don't really do those since I can't really handle veteran and master bandits that well on my commerce character xD

The guides were made
before the stuff you mentioned were added in, so they probably overlooked it or failed to acknowledge it. Just saying.

I'm pretty sure the fighter storyline was already in the game for awhile . Not too sure if Scathach Beach is new but it doesn't seem like it. The daily commerce quests is probably recent. Their failure to acknowledge it makes people starting commerce more painful than it should be.

What if the beginner isn't strong enough to do the fighter storyline?
What more the Scathach Beaches. A lot of people know but they don't recommend this to actual beginners, especially those who chose the Merchant talent.
I mean just generally speaking everyone wants to make money and just how the Merchant talent describes itself, they'd use it as primary or most often secondary and they swing back and forth after realizing that they'll have to find a talent that suits their gameplay.
So the best thing for them for now is A) Get a combat talent and get stronger or B) Guide them to the shortest profitable routes that can help them get their handcart asap.
