Unfortunately, you only have until the 30th to log in on the website to qualify, and it is so overloaded with people trying to get on it that may be next to impossible if you haven't already done so.
Too... many... people on... website... let me.. loging...

I got in. Looks like the server is hosted on Amazon's AWS platform, on their N. Vriginia data centre. You can get a rough approximation of your ping times by checking your connection to that data centre here:
http://cloudharmony.com/speedtest-latency-for-aws:ec2-us-east-1 (Seems to get better results with Firefox.)

Can't complain.

Well, I entered my code on Steam and got it downloaded. I tried running it to see what would happen but all that came up was the logo and a blank server list. The list seemed like it was partially cut off, so hopefully they fix that when the server goes up in a couple days.

Apparently there are secret classes not listed which you obtain through secret methods in the game. These classes will be limited to a certain number per server and once X number of people have the class no one else will be able to use it. This isn't relevant for the closed beta because they have already said these won't be in the beta but I thought it was an interesting thing worth mentioning. Templars, the only class capable of creating guilds, are one of these hidden classes.
Also - Apparently the way naming works is when you log in for the first time you will choose a Lodge name. This is like your family name, it can't be changed, all your characters will have it, and no one else can use it. Then when you make your character you will choose their first name which isn't unique, anyone can use the same first name as many times as they want.
So, if you choose "Ass" as your Lodge name then make 3 characters named Smart, Dumb, and Fat their names will show up in the game as Smart Ass, Dumb Ass, and Fat Ass. You can also disable the first names and have all your characters run around called just "Ass".

Oh so it's like PSO2, I wish more games did that.

But this ruins it for me, I don't want to play TOS anymore if this will be the case.

I thought it was quite interesting, actually. I don't even recall playing any online games that did this.. You gotta understand there are over 80 classes on ToS, and quests aren't linear like in most games telling you where to go next. You have to explore and find them, some of those may award a different job class depending on your level/progression.

This is a simulator that lets you check out the class progressions/skills so you can get an idea of where you want to go with your character. It doesn't include secret classes, of course.

Hype
I'm in
Regarding hidden classes I haven't been able to find any official statements or anything that show that they will actually have a limitation. There aren't even any in the CBTs, and utilizing a data extraction tool, the only thing shown about hidden (or maybe future instead, it's impossible to tell) classes is an uncolored character model (all the others are colored).
Where'd you get that information from?

Actually this is mostly an unbased rumor.

We want hidden jobs only unlockable by a limited number of people per server [?????? FUCK THIS], through quest rewards after meeting certain conditions.
I think they mentioned it on an interview once. The supposed class to make guilds is Templar, and its totally focused on guild skills (so I heard).

Those pictures are nice. 8D I'm still trying to decide on a cool name and what class I want to go with. Seeing as this is the total opposite of Mabi where only certain classes can do certain things its kind of a hard decision.
Like, Alchemists can make cool items you can't get anywhere else, but you can only get them by going down the mage tree which means it would probably be difficult for someone that likes to play solo.
Or how Squires can repair weapons and armor, but in taking the squire class you're left kind of mediocre in terms of fighting ability.

You can level just fine to Alchemist, if you want. I was actually going to play one as well, this was one of my builds:
http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/sdokaai6ox/
Although I
strongly advise having a party to level with. It might not seem like much on the first few levels, but the difference becomes noticeable later on (I was like 20 levels behind another streamer with a party). It just makes things like killing bosses so much easier, and there are party quests as well.
But the game was designed to allow both styles of play, solo will just take longer however.
