Unlocked by hidden quests. Once unlocked you should be able to change them in the character menu
Been messing around with different dps warrior builds on kcbt with my highest level being 180 hoplite. Here's what I discovered. (note everything is centered around PvE)
Rank 1
Warrior 1
- gungho really solid after buffs
- bash>thrust unless you're using thrust for a specific reason (spear build, combo with savagery, etc.)
- only pick up bash: knockdown if you're using it for utility/combo with another skill (like punish)
- concentration scales pretty bad later on, pick it up only if you have nothing else to put points into
- you can leave pain barrier @ 1 to ensure that your skills will go off without getting interrupted (usually for skills that take awhile to finish like hoplite's stabbing). leveling it only adds 1 second per level.
Rank 2 - Builds start to split here. Gungho vs 50% crit rate vs Provoke
Warrior 2
- main reason to go warrior 2 is for higher level Gungho. Usually people use this route if they're not using 2h swords and prioritize lvl 10 gungho > swash buckling.
- unlocks restrain (10% chance to faint enemy per atk). Only pick up when going for a build that attacks fast/a lot. Personally not a fan of the skill because it doesn't work on bosses
Highlander 1
- 2h sword mastery attribute op. Free 50% crit rate once maxed
- Wagon Wheel and Cartar stroke pretty good for leveling early on. Falls off later though
- Cartar has decent utility with its launch.
- Crown is meh
- Cross Guard is also meh choose crown or cross guard 2 max
Peltasta 1
- Swash Buckling OP. Provoke is really good for leveling because mobs group up for you.
- Has a free gaurd. Pretty useful in certain situations.
- Umbo Blow/Rim Blow = standard dps
- Guardian lowers dmg so ignore
Rank 3 - Usually people pick either Barbarian or Hoplite here.
Hoplite 1-3
- Most DPS Hoplites opt for a crit build due to the fact they have access to Finestra and attacks that hit multiple times.
- Stabbing is really solid. Hits fast and hard (assuming you have high crit rate). Max it
- Pierce is solid against large enemies/bosses but completely useless on small targets. Combined with the pierce attribute, pierce hits 4x on boss monsters. Max or 1 point from max to put the point into Long strides (unlocked in hoplite 2)
- Finestra is a bit strange. It's a crit rate modifier that has late scaling. Until Hoplite 2, you can't keep it up 100% of the time and at low levels the crit rate increase isn't that noticeable. Because of this Hoplite DPS builds have to stick with Hoplite until Hoplite 2 to get any reasonable use out of Finestra. However, unlike the other warrior crit rate modifiers, this goes all the way up to 85% extra crit rate at lvl 15.
- Synchro Thrusting - not a fan and personally skipped.
- Long Stride - Does little dmg but gives you a jump. Note that it has a rather long animation time so its uses may vary
Barbarian 1-3
- Even after barbarian nerfs, they're still the go to class for melee dps.
- Embowel - long animation time, rather skip
- Stomping Kick - decent aoe attack tho i rather use my skill points for other skills. Optional
- Aggressor - this is the 1st skill that makes barbarians OP. Aggressor with the crit rate attribute makes it so that the more attack you have, the more crit rate you'll get. With 2h sword mastery from highlander + aggressor = near 100% crit rate by pumping pure str
- Savagery - Makes stabbing type attacks hit twice. Before cbt3 it had an attribute which also doubled slashing attacks but they had to remove it because it was too op. Only pick up for specific builds or ingore
- Warcry - Temp decreases def of enemy and add that to your damage. Personally I don't see people using this because they kill stuff really quickly anyways but still useful in certain situations.
- Frenzy - Another skill that makes Barbarians OP. Everytime you hit the same target, you get a stacking damage buff until a cap. Makes bossing really easy. MAX
- Giant Swing - 2m cooldown on a damage skill. skip
- Pouncing - Slash while you're moving. Pretty useful.
Class combos that I saw and thoughts
War 2 Barb 3 Doppel 1 - Has high base dmg because of higher gungho, however crits are not 100% (atleast in my personal experience).
War 1 High 1 Barb 3 Doppel 1 - aka 100% crit auto atk build. Even after barbarian nerfs this build is OP. A ton of people use this build and hit for 4k-5k on autos @ lvl 170+
War 1 Pel 1 Barb 3 Doppel 1 - Really good in party and solo. Provoke makes grouping mobs a breeze and they still do a lot of damage. More gear dependant than the other 2 because S&S has lower base dmg. However they have the option to switch between sword and mace to cover more attribute weaknesses (slash does 50% more dmg on cloth, stab 50% on leather, strike 50% on plate)
War 2 Hop 3 Doppel 1 - Build I have the most experience with. VERY gear heavy due to the fact that it uses 1h spear + shield and have to make up early low crit rate with tons of crit rate gems (remember to get an alchemist to gem roast before you put them on your gear!). Damage picks up later but nowhere near barbarian level.
War 1 Pel 1 Hop 3 Doppel 1 - Same as above except you're more useful in parties because you have provoke. If I were to make a dps hoplite again I'd made this.
war 2/war 1+ pel 1 barb 1 cor 2 - Never tested this but I've been in several parties with people with this build. Main point of this build is for corsairs dual wielding with savagery combo. Every auto attack hits twice with the 2nd attack counting as a stab attack. With barbarian savagery that hits 2x so you end up hitting 3x per auto. Damage seems to be alright but is gear dependant.
war 2 barb 1 cata 3 - Never tested this but I've been in parties with people with this build. Like the corsair build, this build takes advantage of savagery double hit on stabs. With Cataphract being a 2h spear mounted class, you have the benefit of being able to mount and using a 2h weapon while hitting twice per auto.
