  It's been pay to win since day one with rebirth cards, more pay to win with reforges, then less pay to win with the removal of rebirth cards and addition of free rebirthing, although I don't know of any way you can pay to be immune to or even reduce the damage from the new boss's attacks.

  You don't even have to pay for nao stones, you can get them from Lorna in exchange for saga viewing coupons, you can also get a variation of a nao stone from the adventurer seal shop that revives you but doesn't bless your stuff.

  I used a few of the adventurer seal nao's(Guardian Soul Stones) during g19 [S]Screw paying nx[/S] and i can confirm they do bless your stuff and they give a 10 second invulnerability time.
  
  If you read the details here: http://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/view/Guardian_Soul_Stone it says
  "Upon use, the user will be invulnerable for 10 seconds, nullifying all types of damage to 1 while recieving Advanced Heavy Stander. A barrier similar to Enduring Melody's will appear.
  The user is revived on the spot instantly, with full Health, Mana, and Stamina. The user's currently equipped items will also be blessed and the user will suffer very minor experience cut."

  Uh. You used to have to pay to do Generations, pay to transform into a Pally or Dark Knight, pay for rebirths, storage and shops. Trust me, things are a lot better.
