Just picked up the game again after 2 years. What should I be doing?

Hi guys,

I just recently picked up the game again, but there are so many new contents and I don't know what to do and how to start. Before, I followed a melee build on this site and got my WM to R1. My total level is 218.

Is melee still viable in the game?

What are the best ways to make money + level up?

Welcome back.

A lot has changed since then, so you might want to read up on this.
+Saga II, Ninja talent, and Gen. 19 Divine Knight (+new skills).

Melee is very viable, and in fact, it's one of the best talents right now. Moreover, the good part of melee involves 2H and mostly lances.

For leveling up, MA spam, conflict spam, and saga ep 4.
As for good way of making money, I'd say conflict HM spam, buying/reselling, selling blacksmith'd skurikens, crafted guns, savage wands, purple hearts, ect.
The best way is to pour real life money into the game, but i don't think that's a good way to spend money.

Once you get a decent sum of money, buying a dye well off another player may be a good idea.

I highly reccommend to start a new account entirely (not character).
New accounts get:
6 character cards + the elf and giant card which makes 8
500 AP potion
X2 training potions for a lot of talents
Devcat bag
Medium size bag for beginners (something like that).

The 500 AP potion can carry you to expert warrior no problem. There are daily rebirths for players under 1k total. So it would be easy to get back to total of 200 and faster too with the 500 AP potion. There is also a hot time event coming up on December 24(Check mabinogi website for details) they will give you a huge bag.
