im not sure how to describe this but... i guess chessy? lol. Not sure if that fire explosion was an actual skill or just special effects.

It IS cheesy, but it's a tale many people are familiar with; a newbie gets help from a couple veteran players and the newbie gets accepted into the group.
However, look at all that stuff that isn't in the game lol. The shooped in fireball and running attacks reminded me of an older trailer that had stuff like that. Not to mention the trailer showed off nothing that would actually be in the new patch.
Only thing that was true about the trailer is that dex is OP as usual.

You mean Genesis: Bard.
Also, anime life? I thought that was just JP and NA, but KR made the Fantasy to fucking Anime adaptation too?! :imdead:

In reality if you lay in a forest you will never meet a single person because everyone's too busy being afk in Dun/Belvast.
Also no one in the game is that nice.
We can dream though, I guess.

Yeah, they used a similarly stylized Firebolt in the bard trailer...minus the ULTRAHDx32ENB explosion.
A lot of those sword animations look pretty cool, though I doubt they'll actually appear in-game.
Hopefully they're alluding to an archery overhaul, though more content is preferable.
---
I hate how inconsistent they are with recent updates. It's extremely sloppy and easily shows that they don't have a long-term vision for Mabinogi.
# of dungeons: 17
# of shadow missions: 25
# of secret missions: 3
# of theater missions: 5
# of lord missions: 3
# of new dragon raids: 2
# of abyss dungeons: 2
# of apostle raids: 1
I mean, come on guys. How fucking hard is it to refrain from releasing some new independent system and instead add on to existing systems? Shadow missions were really well designed and we had tons of them to chose from. Now we've just got a bunch of different but equally hollow and worthless shit that nobody runs anymore.
I'm hoping that by "renovation" they intend to pad existing content, to include talents, spirit weapons, demi-god, and most importantly all of those things listed above.

I bet it's just the combat talent update to make it more "viable"

GF had two guys help her out on G10 Semi-Finals yesterday, there are nice people, we're just rare by now
Also.... to the guy saying there was probably nothing shown in the Trailer that would be in the actual Update:
Before the Guy runs towards the Sephiroth he uses Rage Impact, one of the new skills in the Renovation update ;p

I liked the video.
I mean, of course it's a shame the game isn't half as... something... as the video looked, like with all the jumpspinning with swords and tripping over people, but it was still pretty neat.
Heh, imagine if instead of dropping piles of 1k gold, they just conglomerated into a sack of money for quick pickup.
Though, in a way, field boss raids do that, what with plopping a whole other gold bag in your inv.
Weird how they used those Chopping block logs as the Campfire base, instead of the... actual hodgepodge of cut lumber that's used in-game.
It also makes me hope, that since they showed an archer being all fancy alongside the group, that they'll do some renovating of archery, or something.

Anyway.
New archery skill?
Party Healing can be used with staves?
Probably just total BS but it would be nice if these were true.

From what I can tell the battle starts with the warrior using Rage Impact followed by another new and upcoming skill named Bash. This trailer also seems to be hinting at the use of Party Heal with a staff and perhaps improvements for elf archery or maybe just archery in general(?).

For anyone who wants to maybe see these skills in action. Bash doesn't look all that similar I must say. Could be Final Hit but the lunging animation makes me think otherwise.

I feel like this trailer is a nod towards the fact that we will get renewals for the other 2 basic skill sets, because in all honesty they could've used anything other than Mage and Archery but they didn't.

I mean recently all I see on Nation is just people bickering about everything that devcat isn't doing right and what a piece of shit Mabinogi has become, but in all honesty you people never give them credit whenever they try do something right. This combat renewal breathes a lot of life back into the combat tab, and maybe it won't be the best "end game skill set", but it doesn't stop it from being a fun one. Also you have got to realise that it's nearly impossible to please everyone with a game population that is so large. People moaned and complained that Mage/Alchemy/Bard were garbage skillsets, so they revisited them and made them a lot better than what they were, and that's what they're doing with Combat currently and probably Range in the future. What about when people complained how they hated the Saga I/II storyline and they wanted it back to the Generation style? Ohey look, G19 is a generation styled questline. What about the weekly rebirths? Or more inventory space? I mean I could go on and on.
Sure, I don't disagree that Mabinogi could be in a better place than it is currently and we should have an abundance of dungeons and shadow missions and more raids, better drop rates and drops in general, better life skills and rebalance the "OP" skills and change reforges and what not, but honestly G19 was and IS a good step in the right direction. I mean with how many people complained how poorly Saga and Saga 2 were I assumed people would be glad to play G19 (which in my opinion was one of the harder Generations and it's only the first one in a series of 3-4). Don't get me wrong, I want Mabinogi to be a better game too and I love this game as much as the next guy, but it doesn't mean we should get all our pitchforks out every time devcat decides to try to do something positive. And sure, I agree that devcat dug themselves into this hole and there's no light in sight, but that hasn't stopped them from at least trying to climb out and at the end of the day if you sit and complain about every single thing this game does wrong, you won't be able to appreciate everything that game does right.

In the last couple weeks I've single-handedly carried three people through the tail end of G9. Crap rewards and no real help or thanks from the people, but got it done. A lot of players are nice, we're just often off doing our own thing.

Couldn't agree with you more. Devcat tries the best they can do to please everyone but of course there's always going to be someone who is going to complain about the content. Oh wells, at least they are revisiting old content to try and make it better.
