The accusation that NK did it was never even 100% confirmed. Some security experts thought it was them while others didn't think so, then the US authorities just came out and said it was NK.
I'm not personally interested in who did it, what's interesting is the effects this had.

Good to hear that they found a way to release it. I'm still not particularly interested in seeing the film however. At least people have the choice now to watch it or not.

If you want to see it just to know what the fuss is about then go for it, but if you're expecting some sort of entertainment then don't bother.

Didn't like it?
All of my friends loved it so I'm somewhat interested.

I thought the interview was funny as hell. Take it for what it is, a movie revolving around stupid humor, and you won't be dissapointed. There's no underlying messages or any sort of dramatic moments, just James Franco being a dumbass (which is funny to me).

Some guy bought $650 in movie tickets to scalp, then Sony released the movie online and no one bought them, so now he is suing the theater for $650 because they won't give him a refund for the tickets he was going to illegally sell.

I rented it through google play. Cheaper over going to the movies with the family. I enjoyed it if you are expecting a lot out of it, don't watch it. I loved it and thought it was funny but it isn't that amazing imo but still had funny moments.

Reading it on Wikipedia, the plot seems really silly and dumb... :fail3:
Have the hackers fulfilled their promise of unleashing their "reign of terror" due to the movie's release?

Some north korean guy who escaped from the country wants to air drop 100,000 copies of the movie on DVD / USB drive into the country so people can see it.
But no one there has any DVD players or computers....

Watched it with coworkers before new years. I found some entertainment in it. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.
[spoiler="Spoilers"]
It was funny when Kim Jon Un blew up in his helicopter.

Yes they do. They watch Korean dramas and American action movies all the time. Of course everything is smuggled in. There is this Japanese journalist who smuggles in various electornical devices and movies for free (
well, he meets someone at a fenced border), and then they're marketed on the black market, and he's certainly not the only one doing any electronics smuggling.
Don't think an air drop will be effective though, unless the items are dropped individually directly over towns.

The majority of people who have access to that black market stuff are probably the kind of people who fall into 2 categories:
1) already know the Kim family isn't the almighty god-ruler of the world. The point of this is for people to see how much of an ass they make him out out be in the movie, for those hordes of people who are brainwashed.
2) are corrupt officials who also already know stuff is fucked up but don't want to lose what they have.
I'm sure there are some of the people who actually need to see anti-Kim material who will see it in some way or other, but the problem is most people who grab a DVD or USB stick off the ground in a field somewhere probably won't even know what a DVD or USB stick is.
The air drop will probably be done with hundreds of balloons going over a wide variety of locations like most drops are done over NK. I doubt they target cities since they're likely more heavily monitored by government. Probably done over outskirts or small villages / farm areas.
