Pet revolver: summon pets and make it normal attack or smash. Cancel summon to avoid pet getting injured. <- used to push mosnters away or deal some dmg while playing dead
Windmill + heal: while inv frames cast heal to increase your def
defense+ normal+ (switch) magnum+ lb+(switch) charge+ (switch) magnum + lb + counter + lb +normal ranged+(switch) defense

You do realize that I'm STILL trying to make my character as MP efficient rather than damage efficient, right?
My goal right now is to be able to firebolt spam, keep MP shield up as healthy as possible, and still able to regen MP while using inter - adv spells.
8) G1 die-hard habits.
Stackin' that MP hard.

You fakes! Early Mabinogi was about dealing as much damage as you could, then using Play Dead to get rid of aggro, get up and attack again, rinse and repeat.
All hail Play Dead! (I even made a thread about its amazing epicness).
Nonsense! We didn't have such luxuries back in G1.

I do remember doing SmashMill a lot, using Campfires as obstacles to certain enemies, resting often in dungeons since Advanced dungeons were a pain...
Having a inventory with at least 3 stacks of firewood was a must for me back then~

Man, the amount of time I spent FireCountering shit that I had absolutely no right to be fighting... Good times. That and Peaca raids. Peaca can stop 8 noobs, but it can't stop 80! [S]Until we all get fireballed like the scrubs we are, anyway[/S]

You fool! Play dead didn't exist back then! When you get multi agroed by 2 goblin archers in deadly, you better pray you get deadlied again.

In that exact order.
I honestly wish we would get the old windmill health loss back, as well as return the I-frames.
I also miss the old combat system, it was more tuned for party play, instead of steamrolling everything with fast-paced AoE skills.

As an elf who was always really stubborn about letting go of Melee, I never got to the one-shot-everything stage of gameplay, so I've always used a lot of the older tactics (mainly N+Windmill and such). Some giants taught me to do things like throwing Firebolt at mobs after using Smash in G6.
I also developed a habit of standing between two mobs and hitting them once-each with a Slow 2-Hit weapon, following up with Windmill to get them back out of my face along with strategic use of Lightning Bolt to keep them doing whatever I wanted.
The only thing that really changed is I don't have to time things nearly as well anymore.
Oh, I also wrote pet AIs way back when pets were comparatively useful (because why party when you can solo). I had half of my animal minions fighting using player skill chains most of the time. It was amusing.
I lost those AIs, though.

4) Scream and panic: This is what you do if you're in Fiodh and gorgons spawn. You really couldn't do anything else.
i laughed at that
also. i've always used ice>smash. it still seems to work

I remember the good old days, 1.5k total, running elite missions in full deadly, successfully without dying, then while leveling i get lagged backwards into a fucking zombie die and lose 50 blessings.

Don't forget about ice-locking. Best way to solo dungeons not really meant for soloing? Get everything stuck using counter/defense!

Grinding wm against zombies in tnn for long periods of time before the x2 training stuff came about.
Baol infiltration being only on sunday (it was sunday right? It was a long time ago)
Not having dual wield so you either 2handed or sword and boarded it.
Annoyingly saving up only for a 2hander/claymore.
Dying countless times and spawning at the goddess statue to get past the next checkpoint in the generations.
Not having armor and deciding to buy an armor at emain macha for the g2 final (I've since turned it into cp armor years later)
Acting like I wasn't jealous of the ego weapons but being too scared to jump into it with how tight money was.
Having a crappy robe on. (like I mean crappy)
I remember the first time I cleared a room myself (pretty sure it was ciar or something), not only was my blood flowing and adrenaline giving me the strength to throw a car to the side, but it was very much hype.
Anyway on to battle tactics:
Windmilling werewolves even though windmill was next to worthless for me at the rank it was.
One person archers while another person stands over them with counter loaded for when morgant swung his splash damage before glas.
Having someone who claims they are a bounty hunter or mercenary solo the whole dungeon while I had trouble keeping up with him even though he solod every room.
My hippy mabi days when I first got my starry hat (via dungeon, back when it wasn't completely chump) and just with the robe I decided that I was "Retired from fighting" and was just a wandering man of peace and love. Avoiding combat is a battle tactics ;)
Using trees to get some rest from a bear, running directly back so it was still stuck to the tree then going to the side so it could go around the tree but giving me the proper time to put up a counter.
Not using windmill because of the health drain.
Grinding safe dungeons to get potions/gold for higher leveled dungeons, it was like I was financing a big adventure.
Avoiding Peaca like it was Peaca.
Drawing out monsters from the boss room one at a time.
I also did a lot of n + 1 (heck I did some today even)
I did a lot of fire/ice counter. (ogres were an upwards battle, but at least I was on the escalator with fire counter)
etc etc

Not really - we're just gained a lot of power (at least the average player has) - elf range and giant melee steamrolled just as hard even in g12-14. Most players just didn't have access to it.
