That's the sad part of it.
For a child's allowance you can buy enough bots to deliver a crippling blow to the infrastructure of popular services, and there is basically nothing that services who would be targetted can do to stop it but try to minimize how big of a target they are.
I still think Lizard Squad may actually be some sort of false flag and had undercover operators who taught them how to do this stuff and made sure they had access to the means of doing so, but by now the evidence of that would already have been purged and impossible to dig up.
The kids will do time for their offenses, and the whole situation will become another example case to try and justify more and more invasions of our privacy when using the internet on the pretext of 'protecting the children from criminal activity.'
