  Heyo! If you're struggling with color choices and shading, I recommend doing color and value studies from real life references. You'll notice right away that as the value changes, so does the hue and the level of saturation changes as well. Objects under shade tend to be bluish and cool while objects outside in the light tend to be orangery and warm. I highly recommend doing studies as it will definitely complement well with your line art!

  I've never done any sort of color/value study, but it already sounds a lot better than staring at other artists' drawings, and trying to interpret how they chose their values and shading without any fore-knowledge on how they do it. I've googled and found some websites about the topic; definitely reading them. Thanks for the advice!

  That's not the only thing I draw, but most of my art pieces have been characters with more reptilian/draconic features to them(Reptiles are my 2nd favorite animal class behind birds anyway). I draw what comes to my mind, which has been influenced by a lot of DFO lately.

  You know what's the weirdest thing about these DFO Dragons? Since they're 2-D, I dunno if their mouths have gum lining inside, and I was too lazy to check if their bite animations have filling in-between the mouths or not so I assumed the former. Yay artistic vision!

  Thanks! I've been trying to recreate how I did it, albeit to not much success lately but I'm sure I'll get it down eventually.

  I started this in June and stopped a bit after; if it’s not done then, it’s not going to be finished now(sadly).
