GoDaddy released their Superbowl commercial. The commercial featured a puppy falling out of the back of a truck on a bumpy road. Uninjured, the puppy goes on an epic journey to return home to the place it was born. As it finally gets home the woman yells "You made it home! You're just in time - Because I just sold you on my website I made with GoDaddy."
Instantly GoDaddy's customer service lines and Facebook page were flooded with animal nuts accusing the company of everything from throwing dogs out of trucks, to supporting animal abuse, to running puppy mills. Claims were that their commercial was telling people to buy animals online and that for every animal someone buys they are murdering animals in a pound somewhere and that it's all GoDaddy's fault because they made a commercial.
Needless to say, the raging of a thousand morons caused the company to pull the commercial, though even then the morons still raged "HOW DARE YOU THINK THAT COMMERCIAL WAS FUNNY. I'LL NEVER USE GODADDY AGAIN, YOU JUST LOST THE BUSINESS OF MY 50 SITES WHERE I UPLOAD PICTURES OF KITTENS ALL DAY."

They should have moved already after GoDaddy's SOPA support.

Godaddy is pretty much the nexon of web hosting services. It's a piece of shit.
The reaction people are having is ridiculous though.

Good riddance I say.
People should have already been boycotting GoDaddy over SOPA.
It figures that it takes a marketting blunder to get it to actually happen instead of a serious reason why people should.

Personally, I think the ad is great. It's funny in a mean kind of way without being tastelessly messed up. People on the 'net are just dumb.

Unlike you people, I think it is a marketing success. I have never heard of this company until now. All the complains about the commercials means that people are talking about it, and learning that such a company even exist.
Which one is better? A company that noone knows that it exists, or one that everyone know that exist, and is trying to boycott it?

Er... I'm pretty sure you're the only one in the world who didn't know it existed though. Lol. It's like, one of the main big web hosting services, they have commercials on TV all the time.

This commercial has a 18k signature petition to be removed because they make fun of gluten free food.

Nationwide insurance put out a commercial warning parents about the fact that most children who die in this country every year die to accidents that could have been prevented, and at the end of the commercial it had a link to a website full of safety tips for new parents to help them take precautions to avoid these things and keep their kids safe. And people are responding to them trying to make the world safe for children by yelling "WAY TO BLAME THE PARENTS OF DEAD CHILDREN FOR THE KIDS DYING. YOU ASSHOLES HAVE NO RIGHT TO INSULT PEOPLE WHO LOST CHILDREN LIKE THAT".
I swear to god, everyone is fucking on crack or something.
