I find it a pain in the ass that you run so slow in Mabi. I think weapon sprint should be added.
- It would add allow you to sprint with a weapon for some time ( no more long dungeon corridors! )
- Added melee damage
- Addition of Stage 2... moves ( sprint could act as a stage 1 when you are attacking )
- 2-handed weapons may have a ue other than Fashinogi
- Uses stamina
- Cannot add magic damage
- Decreases durability of weapons n ( n > 1 ) times as much
- May lag a bit

Sounds easier to just hop on to all those variety of mount pets.
I guess if you want to "spirit", there is always stuff like Guarded Footsteps (Shield of Trust subskill) and Shylock's Step.

This makes no logical sense. Why would holding a big heavy weapon make you faster? Even if it is an active/temporary skill.

- Rank S wavesweeper
- Fleet feet
- March song
- Speed potions
- A billion mounts
All of these are available (though rS wavesweeper not so much.) Not saying all of these stack together, but I think running speed would be of least concern.
That would be pretty cool though.

I never said "a big heavy weapon" would make one faster. My intentions were to say that weapon damage would be increased due to sprint.

And why would giving your all in a run increase weapon damage?

Running makes you stronger, what? There's no logic in that.

There would be more force due to increased speed? And what about the possibilities of tackles?
EDIT: Also, it you could quickly run up to an enemy quicker and deal a blow, whereas normally running to the attack could introduce magic/ranged attacks against you if there is enough distance.

It sounds like you're describing Charge as a buff rather than an active attack. In which case this just sounds like a berserker, and exactly like what I thought Beserk would be, not including the openings berserkers tended to leave open.

Charge requires a shield if you're not a giant.
Sprints could be a bummed down version of berserker. It wouldn't have the knockdown, stun, and freeze immunity; but wouldn't require an initial one second activation period. Those are just for melee. My real intention for sprint would just to increase speeds for a short amount of time while one is going through town or something if they can't afford a speed boost or as an early game buff. I've heard of noobs leaving Mabi due to the slow travelling speeds.

It would be better to expand the movement system in Mabinogi.
Current Values:
Human: 100%
Giant: 116%
Elf: 132%
Updated Values:
Run: (x0.9)
- Click to run
- Enemies notice the player 25% faster
Human: 90%
Giant: 104%
Elf: 118%
Walk: (x0.5)
Human: 50%
Giant: 58%
Elf: 66%
Sprint: (x1.2)
- Alt + Click to sprint
- Enemies notice the player 100% faster
- Skills cannot be used while sprinting
- Consumes 5 stamina per second
Human: 120%
Giant: 139%
Elf: 158%
