I finally settled down with my new workplace and able to find time to play Mabi again. How is the game currently? Alive and well? Is there any change that i suppose to know? I am in Alexina, i kinda stopped playing after the Couple Flight action event.
Thanks for any kind souls that will reply

Oh sorry for not making myself clear, i can find the patches note. Just, i want to know in-game situation before starting again. I heard rumor the game is dying, popularity shrinking and such?
Still thanks for the reply!

If you ask me... it seems like the game popularity is actually larger than before... only exception being Ruairi and Tarlach because they're slowly becoming abandoned.

Population-wise it seems to be about the same.
Unfortunately, the majority of logged in players are essentially husks, capable but not willing to do anything that inconveniences them...like walking outside of Dunbarton or running missions more than once or twice per day.

Game died in some major aspects and a lot of older players quit or became very inactive. Mabi is even more linear and damaged focused.Speaking. as a 4k total person.
[S]run to a good game,now![/S]

Players focused on character development and damage are still trying to quench their thirst, prices on items inflated quite a bit for cash shop things. On the social aspect of the game, aside from a few friends leaving, the community is still pretty healthy and I run into groups of lower levels enjoying the game on channels that aren't ch1. All seems to be going as you would expect, world keeps on spinning.

Player base: Hasn't really changed much. Though all they're doing is afking Dunbarton and being fashionogis.
Content wise has expanded, previous director who made Shakespeare and Saga stepped down. A new director came in and threw in a new generation, a new and different raid system from the Iria one, a new skillset with a "skill tree"-like thing, and some revamps to melee, mage, and archery.
The new designs have mixed reviews but is mostly leaning towards negative. The new raid system is somewhat a unique and challenging design, but has very poor rewards and gives out quests that are nearly impossible to complete. The new skillset is designed to have use in the new raid and can be quite powerful if you play your cards right, but is extremely tedious to rank and one of the skills is completely useless. The revamps to skills going on is mostly throwing in "nice to have but not really necessary" as well as new skills that give ridiculous power creeps while NOT fixing their flaws and changing their overall pace.
Overall, Mabinogi is still alive; just barely.

That thread seems grim. Personally i hope the game can go on for at least several more years, but it might be just a wishful thinking since it is already pretty old. I guess i will jump in and play again w/o overthinking stuff too much, backing out now surely not helping the game staying alive. Even if my presence barely contributes as a single player.
Thanks for everyone's reply and have a good day ahead.

I came back recently and the game seems very healthy to me. Lots of active players. Yes there are always the fashion focused and the damage focused but Alexina is far more populated than when I left almost 3 years ago.

More populated? More active? I actually see even less people at Stonehedges and Apostle Raid Assembly as the days pass by.

But the server is at least 2x as busy as when I left. Whether it is less than when you started I don't know. But server was pretty dead around 3 years ago.

It's still a good game, Nexon just doesn't have the right mind-set to fix it rightly, in my
opinion. Still enjoyable if you have friends lol

Alexina isn't my first go-to server, but I think it was fairly new 3 years ago. What really helped its population grow was that ''new'' tag Nexon left on it for some time.
