Hello,
So, sometimes when I'm playing Mabi, usually in a dungeon, my entire i-net just slows down to a near stand still. Webpages will barely load, and take awhile to do so, skype and FB chat disconnects, all the while, my computer is telling me that there isn't anything wrong my connection and my speeds are normal. Then Mabi goes into this weird limbo state where my character is warped back to a recent point constantly, I can't cast any spells, attack, summon pets, the boss door and the boss aren't there, and the game eventually just crashes without any sort of error message.
Then I have to disconnect and reconnect my internet connection to get anything else to work again.
I don't think this is the internet's or my router's fault, since this doesn't outside of Mabi, and I never had any other problems like this.
If it helps at all, I'm playing Mabi on a Asus G51 laptop on Windows XP SP3.
Any suggestions?

Get rid of that. Microsoft stopped supporting it a while ago, meaning hackers enjoy pwning your computer as it's a sitting duck. Wouldn't be surprised if your weird issue was a side effect of that...
Hard to say what the cause is with certainty, but my first guess would be a network driver issue. I'd try downloading the latest one from Asus and uninstalling/reinstalling it on your computer.
You really need to upgrade from Win XP ASAP, though.

Unfortunately, its my only real option to even play Mabi. My PC is over 5 years old and couldn't handle Vista well anymore (and when it did, it was perfect, no need to have upgraded to 7), so I'm dual booting XP and Ubuntu, and for the most part, no problems whatsoever. My Win7 tablet can barely run Mabi, but too much lag there.
I'll try the driver thing, thanks.

I don't see why it wouldn't be able to handle Vista "anymore." Vista's performance got better over the years, and with the exception of bad drivers initially, it never had poor performance on decently specced systems at the time to begin with. Makes me wonder if perhaps the cooling system got clogged with dust and your computer is throttling itself as a result, or you got malware on your Vista installation that caused the performance degradation at some point.
Thumbs up for using Linux as an alternative, though.

I don't know, it ran great for 4 years, just how did out of the box, but nearing 4.5 years it just started to get old. Lag all over, including the OS. I tried all the normal upkeep stuff like defrag and whatnot, but nothing was making it go back to normal. I also kept the PC's physical condition in top shape, too. I never had problems with Vista either. In fact the PC was nothing short of amazing before it got "old".
But yeah, Ubuntu was a god send for this.
