I haven't played since the giants and elves were introduced and have a giant and human with cumulative ar 300+.
1) I have old pets with ages 25+. I have a mimic, broom, horse, black cat, and sprite. Are any of them worth leveling?
2) My human had skipped gen 1 and is in middle of gen 3 and was focused on getting black knight. Is there a way to reget gen 1? is black knight better than paladin? Will my paladin rank reset when I go black knight?
3) are secondary titles worth it?
4) are human and elf archers balanced or is elf leaps and bounds ahead.
5) I can't decide which of my two chars to be my main. My friend who got me to play again is a elf and i know a gaint can't marry, but can we be in the same family? How good are gaints at all the other classes or should or should they stick to melee? I been mostly playing gaint and taunt is useful for elf friend, but he cant ride me. Human is fun with final hit, armor options, and cosmetics. I just can't decide and need people's opinion as I know pros and cons. I just need to pick one and go for it.
6) why do you enjoy mabinogi? I haven't had this much fun in a game in six months. Is it because of the ding when I level skills or the freedom or playing with friend. I can't play normal mmos for long. I have also tried skill grind games like wurm, I just don't know why mabinogi is so fun.

1. Not really. Pets are really used for utility, not really for their combat stats. You can go ahead and level them to 200 if you want just because, I guess. Otherwise, the only other two pets worth leveling are Clover Gnu and Clover Pig because of their need for mana.
2. After some patch, I believe you can go back to generations. I suggest that you do it because the generations are ridiculously easy to complete now, and will give you tons of AP. As for the "Dark Knight vs. Paladin" battle, this really depends on your preference of combat. If your combat is focused mainly on Mage, Alch, or Gunner, Dark Knight is the way to go for you as Dark Knight will net you more damage on those areas. Paladins get consistently high bonus on Str, Dex, and Will area, so the archers, warriors, puppets, and fighters benefit a lot from this.
3. Yes. Go get a good one. Notable ones: Merlin, Professor J, Starlet, Dark Ruairi. Cost-efficient ones: Hamlet, Ruairi, Mari, Yvona.
4. Both can be a good archer. Right now, the gap between Humans and Elves is smaller than it has before, but Elves still triumph by a bit in the archer battle. Elves can pull off some crazy DPS, but Human archery don't do bad either.
5. Yes, Giants can be in the same family as Elves. As for Giants, there's really only three classes they should be going for: Melee, Magic, and Gunner. Others are bad classes or just not as good ones for Giants. Giants do have an easy early game though. As for Elves, they're really only be good in Range, Magic, and mediocre in Puppets. Elves are great in that they have the potentially highest DPS, but they need a lot of resources and time to scale up to that level. Humans can't really go wrong with anything. They're the best for puppets, and other than that, they're jack-of-all-trades, not the best, but not the worst. Most balanced, and I'd say most likely to steamroll through contents. If I were you, I'd just play human.
6. Mabinogi is a progression game. Unlike many other mmos, it has an accumulative leveling system, which means you can stack your stats and go. People like seeing their character actually having decent stats, sort of accomplishment for them. If you don't like the game, don't play, simple as that.

5. Go Giant. They are the master race and even devs know it, buffing them with every major update. Soon, Giants will be the best at any talent, even archery.
6. Mabinogi is probably the only MMORPG out there that truly gives you freedom of doing whatever the heck you want. There are no classes, no level cap, close to no level requirements to cool-looking weapons and armour, even the storyline can be played in a non linear way. There should be more games like that.

Not sure if joking or not...
In fact, in the future updates, Giants aren't getting much out of it. Especially the close combat area. For range, it's still safe to say it's non-existent for Giants, even after that update.
Humans are the ones who are getting the most benefit.

I don't think going DK transformation is valid for mages anymore for 2 reasons.
First is when you transform, your titles go poof. So on a max roll of 360 int, that's 72 m-att bonus, whereas you can be having 90 m-att from titles 24/7.
Second reason is when you capped your int, what's the point of int rolls on DK? The only good thing is a bit of extra mana but mana doesn't matter especially not with the coming updates to magic. You'll gain better from the steady damage increase for other talents that you might hybrid into, talents that you might not have maxed out stats for as a mage.

The stats are very similar to the point it doesn't matter.
Elf archers differs only in small magnum load time, and they have final shot.
However, archery talent has fallen out of favor nowadays. Lances became an important source of damage nowadays, and Elves can't use lances.
I haven't partied with an Elf in forever. It is always humans, and on rare occasions, a giant.
