I play on Tarlach server and it seems like 60% of the community are afkers.
Training crusader skills are a pain because you are lucky to do more than one raid a day if any at all. Trying to find people for SMs are a pain especially if you are under leveled and if your SM is in Taillean, don't even bother.
Many houses in the residences are for sale which means the potential market on housing boards largely untapped. Don't even get me started on the prices for items crafted from materials obtained from raids (one of them went for 50 mill because there are only like 3 of that item in the entire server a few months ago). Guild battle is pretty much only for hard core guilds so only a hand full of guilds participate. The only consistent way to do any sort of group based activity is to find a guild so there are a lot of solonogiers.
But on the plus side I suppose commercing (my favorite activity) has less competition and there is almost never server lag now.
So I've always wondered what it's like on other servers.
Is there a mass of people around Tara and Tall stonehenge as well as Apostle raid entrance waiting for people to join their party?
Are there Black/White dragon raid parties going on all the time?
Is there a gigantic amount of shops in Dunbarton, Belvast and the housing boards so you can pretty much buy anything there is any the game given you're willing to pay for it?
Is there server lag?
Are there a large amount of commercers driving down prices?
Is guild battle a huge open war zone where guilds can compete just for fun?
Most importantly, can you make new friends easily due to having so many people?

I play in Alexina server, also known as a server with highest population.
I'd say it's really easy to make new friends on there, and I know Alexina does quite a few raids daily.
Lot of shops, mainly in ch1 and ch2... Guild war used to be popular in Alexina but now it's just mainly few of the same guilds joining.
Only problem is that Alexina is said to have more people that is an asshole compared to other servers, and I somewhat can agree with that, just have to find the right type of people.

it's like impossible to find runs like MA or Peaca Abyss here in mari because people only do it with guilds and friends and i was on hiatus(es) a lot so no guild or fwends :llama_cry2:
just fooled around in a BD raid with 7 people. Saw one killed last night so maybe it's common?

Ruairi here. I see between 0 and 4 people outside shadow mission altars depending on the time of day (more if there's a pre-made group heading in) but people don't hang out looking for SM runs. CH1 Dunby and Belvast get almost-full of shops at most times, though they're only like half-full after a maint (takes a day or so for them to fill back out). Black/white dragon raids are generally just a guild-based thing here.
... then again I tend to play when all the kids aren't home from school or something, in the off hours.

Ruairi is also full of SEA people and generally people in GMT +7-9:00 timezones. and sometimes, channel 7 and 5 gets filled with people too
You could say Ruairi never sleeps.

60% of Alexina is AFK. That being said, the population is higher so there are still more people running around.

During peak hours? Yes to both altars. Apostle is usually empty.
Are there Black/White dragon raid parties going on all the time?
Yes
Is there a gigantic amount of shops in Dunbarton, Belvast and the housing boards so you can pretty much buy anything there is any the game given you're willing to pay for it?
Yes
Is there server lag?
Not really
Most importantly, can you make new friends easily due to having so many people?
Yes. I ran G3 final with a random the other day. That was pretty fun. People say that Alexina has a lot of drama or that people are rather nasty. I disagree. I'm often pretty rude to people during apostle raids and that's about the meanest I've seen people get on a whim. Otherwise it's mostly limited to the same handful of folk who think the world is out to get them.

Give a guess why there are so many SEA people in Ruairi ;)

Lag isn't really a factor most of the time unless you have a basic internet connection or something. Computer wise Mabi is very low demanding, as long as you're not moving too much in populated areas. But no, I do not experience lag that is not somehow my fault.

I recently started playing Mabi, when i joined i started on Ruairi, but after a few days i switched to Alexina, There are 2x the amount of players everywhere, its kinda nice. If you select the new character option, you can see a rough population of all the servers. in order its always
1. Alexina
2. Mari
3-4. Tarlach and Ruairi

I play on Alexina, and I haven't been able to run MA in maybe a week. My only active friends are in different time zones, and just like some other people have mentioned regarding their servers, a lot of players stick to doing things only with their guilds. LF> Active Guild xD
