  If safety is a concern, you spam from a corner or something.
  
  Not saying a total beginner to the game will do it because they probably will take like a day just to figure out what a rebirth is, but someone who has experience or guidance or has played before definitely can.

  edit: idk what you're smoking because ~815 int, ~300 m.atk hits average of 4-5k.

  I didn't hit a 10k on a raccoon until the talent changes. Oberynn you are an anomaly in game. I mean this as a compliment. Everything you do seems to be way over the top of the average or even decent player. You level higher, your gears are better, your strategies are researched. Trust me when I say what you did nearly no one else has done. I am 11k now and I am certain when I come back to play after this next college break you will have leveled past me.
  
  Let's test this out a sec. Human Character: Let's say your a new player and someone gives you a +4 Chain Savage S6 firewand (pretty nice of them). A Human Starts out with 15 int and 40 mana at age 17. This persons nice friend says he will level them in MA for a couple days and teaches them to do arch lich. This person gets to 300/80 in 3 days for a total over 380 ap.
  
  This person rebirths and is ready to start leveling on their own. They rank bolt mastery, magic mastery, fire mastery, and firebolt.
  AP = 91 + 124 + 109 + 156 = 480 They are short on AP so they rank most of that but not quite all. While ranking they manage to get to level 50 and work to 50 explore to get that last ap point. Of course this person has no ap left for critical hit...but well assume they got a few freeby aps.
  
  They now have gained 75 int and mana from level ups.
  Mana = 40 + 150 + 14 + 21 = 225
  Int = 15 + 17 + 17 + 52 = 101 = Magic attack 20 + 84 magic attack from wand = 106 magic attack
  
  Now for firebolt:
  
  Add all that up 5 charges = 1236.3 Damage. With rank F critical Because he didn't have ap to rank it yet 1854.45.
  
  Now he may have a few more stats from titles and such but at level 300 running HM missions solo will be a pain if not possible. He has not ranked potion making so he has to buy pots. He does not have ap for music skills or meditation to recover. He literally has no other skills and the best he can hope for is 900 ish normal damage on a mob in hardmode. At MOST at level 300 this character has gotten another 200-400 AP from sagas and such (crit to r1 and maybe a few other skills).
  
  So this person had to be gifted a 10 mil wand to even achieve these results. Some of you need to remember what it was like to be a new player. Things are MUCH better now for new players than when the server opened but running hardmodes consistently with power needs some help with gears and around 2k AP focused correctly.

  See this? this is 0 INT. I'm actually losing 2 magic attack. Disregard the weapon pot, it doesn't do anything to firebolt (without bfo) cause I'm not waiting around for it to end just to take a char screen picture since I was doing something else. Also, the titles are about right for magic attack since I got mwm master right away and I got a lassar (24 MA more or less? for like 100k. There's better cheap titles now). I'm also not using bfo and I'm naked, etc.

  This wand? It's extremely bad and I made it exactly as it looks here (except for engineer enchant) for like 500k on the same day I made my character. I keep it around for nostalgia.

  This? just the first crit I saw, good enough to me because with 0 int balance is too low to find true max crit in a reasonable amount of time. Granted I have maybe 1 more mastery than I would have at lv ~300 but then again I would also have 300~400 int and not 0 so 9~10k firebolts seem about right. I also got all the super cheap crit/dmg enchants up the wazoo since a lot of them come from easy things like sketching and so on, so critting on HM was not a problem.
  
  Now what's so hard about doing HM missions with 10k dmg? people before all these recent buffs were doing quick work and soloing HM missions with 500 character screen max and 7.5k smashes for the longest time and that's way weaker and slower than a 1 day character's firebolt now.
  
  As for mana usage, I abused the hell out of 1 charge mp consumption glitch with lots of mp 30s and some ranks of meditation, etc,etc. All about the 4 current MP life. It's not really practical once you have like 400+ MP but as a beginner, there's nothing better than free firebolts.
  
  Also, the following does not apply to me but:
  For like the past 6 months new accounts have gotten 500 ap to start with. What's to say the people OP mentioned didn't have such an advantageous AP bonus to start with?

  Yep, it's as you say. Firebolt doesn't really scale very high from intelligence/magic attack and you can get most of that damage with almost no AP which is why you can hit 10ks with ease and use it to make a new character tackle harder content.
  
  You can hit 40k firebolt too, but the majority of that damage comes from a spirit wand's base damage/reforges and STR/max damage enchants + bfo.

  The differences between established players and the modern form of newbies is more than just one stat. Resources and experience levels have quite large gaps as well (which is where part of where the power gap comes from but that's another discussion.).
  
  The expectation than a new player (in all aspects, not an oldbie roleplaying with their existing resources) will have a fully-upgraded and S6'd wand is kind of unreasonable. The knowledge of such a thing (and thus the specific drive) and the resources to obtain one generally come later on than a player's first 1K total level character on their first account.
  
  You have showed up the possibility, which is really interesting, don't get me wrong, but there's a difference between possibility and expectation here.
  
  EDIT: I should clarify... newbies in the current system tend to not even know how special upgrades work yet, nor do they have the average amount of stones and gold to R6 an item that's only from high-level player crafting.

  I find it hard to believe that it's "easy" for a newly created character to just spam firebolt in hm at around like what 300...so far the stats you just posted isn't that of a newly created character. And the gears I'm pretty sure you already had the resources for the +cc savage fire wand and/or you can farm for them easier than those who are below 1k.
  
  I'm just saying on the realistic point of view of someone who just started 4 weeks ago (so not everyone made it to that free Devcat bag with 500 ap and training potions) who just touched her character for 2 weeks (out of town) who had nothing, not even spent on cash shop, no pets (except for the free horse, eagle, and pegasus) who just finished g1, g2, and sagas.
  And even if I'm in the most populated server .-. I haven't seen a single party who're willing to spam MA with a newbie what more bring them to Avon for free. I know that there are helpful stronger players who likes helping newbies, but most of the time they don't fully explain or give enough details on what to do in mabi like farming exploration levels for example, I asked a handful of players on which method would be the most efficient way to gain levels...majority answered the Statues from the gachapons (but not everyone have the money to spend irl), then they suggested doing exploration quests (but not a single one suggested sketching the lich) while the rest just mentioned rafting. Most of the time everyone will just suggest mabi wiki ("google mabi wiki" as they say). I'm not against using the wiki but even the wiki itself has some limitations too :fail3:
  
  I appreciate the tip on how to farm exploration levels, I'll try it from now on but yea..this isn't a show off thread and I may not fully understand the full logistics of damage calculations yet, please try to see it on my point of view :bow:

  People just don't care enough to learn how things work. It wouldn't matter even if they did because the best rewards are accessible to the lowest common denominator.

  OT: not sure if anyone mentioned this but you should probably get on G1 and Saga 1 for that ap and free Perseus which stuns on summon. Though things might've been a lot easier when you were below 100 or 300 for saga.
  
  As for MA you can probably find leech if you join a nice guild.

  Your doing fine. You can't expect to be strong at first unless you have friends who help you with equips and methods. Read the guides section here a lot. Many players have contributed there to help.
