Your avatar is the main character this time
Two versions, the one you don't get will be available is DLC.
May have a third storyline as DLC
Different gameplay depending on what version you get. One will have traditional FE gameplay and the other will be new.

I'm so happy that I get to be a dragon and main character. Female avatar is so cute. Augh.
The wait is going to be so long for releases outside of Japan, but I already what route I'm going to take.

So in Japan there are 4 versions. Black version, white version, digital version with both paths and the version with both paths and the third DLC.

I don't particularly appreciate being made to pay extra for branching storylines. Shin Megami Tensei IV had a branching storyline part-way into the game that drastically altered how the story played out, and it had four branches, and I didn't have to pay extra for any of them.

I'll probably skip on this one.
Rekka no ken may have been the best Fire Emblem but later entries in the franchise were still pretty good, even the fairly uninspired weeaboo mess that was Awakening. I won't pass further judgement until the game hits North America. I hope it turns out well.

I'm just gonna repost this from skype chat here...
[02/04/2015 16:48:30] Kitkat / Elleanior: ...You've got to fucking be kidding me. I just realised something about Fire Emblem IF.
[02/04/2015 16:48:41 | Edited 16:48:48] Kitkat / Elleanior: The main character, Kamui is descendant of royalty.
[02/04/2015 16:48:53] Kitkat / Elleanior: And in Awakening, the main character, Robin, is, in a matter of speaking, a descendant of royalty.
[02/04/2015 16:50:01] Kitkat / Elleanior: Point is, I'm starting to notice a theme.
[02/04/2015 16:53:53] dapper lace (Addy): Yeah
[02/04/2015 16:54:01] dapper lace (Addy): Royal dragon people
[02/04/2015 16:54:30] dapper lace (Addy): Raised by non-family
[02/04/2015 16:54:40] dapper lace (Addy): Well, Robin still had mama
[02/04/2015 16:54:40] Kitkat / Elleanior: Coincidence?
[02/04/2015 16:54:44] Kitkat / Elleanior: I think not!
[02/04/2015 16:56:13] Kitkat / Elleanior: I love how in both of them, you get to choose between Family and "Family".
[02/04/2015 16:56:18] Kitkat / Elleanior: And which one is which is up to you.

SMTIV had some important story stuff behind DLC, not to mention some demons being gated behind the paywall. Atlus has been incredibly scummy with their DLC schemes on the 3DS

Whatever capture device they use at nintendo makes games look like shit in these videos. They really don't look THAT bad in person.

Pretty sure Nintendo is using the best capture device they can. xd It's more an issue of very low quality 3D graphics combined with the fact that it's rendered at a low resolution and then being blown up to almost 720p on YouTube. If you shrink it to its real size, it looks a bit better. This is why I don't like low quality 3D graphics. 2D sprite pixel art on low-powered hardware ftw. o/

That Dynasty Warriors/Walhart looking dude seemed cool.
What's with the title though? It made me think of Shin Megami Tensei.

The games look better on the actual 3DS for sure.
In any case, I'm very curious about the Hoshido having a dragon or part-dragon kid. There's a dragon statue featured in the trailer, but none of the other family members or anyone on that side has the pointed ears. I'm curious to see the story behind Kamui, the Dark Prince/Princess. (F!Kamui wins tho'). Maybe it's similar to awakening in that they were looking to have the perfect child, or maybe it's something else entirely. If the story is a little less black and white than it looks now, I'm going to be very pleased.

Honestly I can agree with this. The higher resolution stretches out the pixels too much. Before Smash was released, I was pretty convinced I was just going to buy the Wii U version cause the 3DS looked so bad in comparison but I ended up loving it on the actual handheld. Saved me buying a Wii U (Especially since it was the only game I HAD to have on that system)

Yeah, 3DS resolution just isn't big enough to be stretched out by youtube like that, especially now that they've made the video area even bigger. Hell, WiiU games won't look as good on YouTube, and they're gorgeous. MK8 blew my mind when I actually got to play it.
