Excluding inventory space what other factors are there that would make u think spent your NX was well spent for that pet (such as Bone Dragon, and Nimbus)

What the pet offers that others don't. For example, back in the past, the Thoroughbreds inventory size was decent, but it was the fastest land mount, which made it very popular. Mini bears were very strong back then, when pets could actually make a bit of a difference in battle. For others, the Haflinger/Shire were two seaters and that was helpful if you had friends and they had no mounts. The shire itself was a decent combat pet with good inventory.
Later on with the AoE pets, aside from inventory, it might be what the AoE does. Example, the Bone Dragon is like an Aoe Spinning Uppercut along with being able to deal with blinkers for those that can't and fight as well. Nimbus AoE puts enemies to sleep and partially heals people around you as well, incredibly useful. Now, it basically comes down to what the AoE effect does/what other abilities the pet has that others don't.

Flying Food Truck: Weakass AoE. However it's more because it gives 2x Cooking training, portable well, portable cooking fire, and portable grocery shop.

Ah ok, so AoE , and abilities never introduced in other pets are the big factors.
I see Scooters being demanded, does this means it's the fastest mount?

Fastest land mount, helpful (at times) AoE.

AOE above all, if you can get 10+ of a stun pet like bone dragon that stuns all things, you're basically golden. Recovery, clouds= hp pots less of a necessity. Inventory and exp boost for certain skills and then you want a good speed sky and land mount, which the nimbus is universally good around the board. However its AoE is less useful than a bone dragons.

If I were given a restricted number in terms of how many kind of pets I can get, this would be my list:
Clouds = Free Recovery
Bone Dragon = Free Weapon Power potions, stackable debuff
Scooter = AoE stun and fast cruising speed
Pegasus = Temporary stun that doesn't lock like scooters do, and removes most debuff
Clover Pig/Gnu = Herbs
Yeah, there are other AoE pets, but they don't really provide things that are so significant. For example, Flamemares are nice, but besides the little AoE, they don't provide much other than having good inv. And then there are pets that are pretty much for cosmetic purposes, like basically all the dogs and cats. You could argue that Himalayan gives you really efficient inventory.

Dogs and cats tend to be bought in larger numbers when they go on sale which is why you may see more of them around.

Except Pegasus is free, it's not really worth spending NX on for another.
The only debuffs it cures is Poison, Petrification, and that one from Duke, but that's it. That's not a large list of debuffs, nor are they common.

Free when you do saga.
If you want more than 3, then NX is involved, directly or indirectly.

The only pet I paid for is Floral Fairy, because she's cute.

That's new to me. If that happens upon account creation, that's just stupid.

Well, 6 free cards + 2 assistant characters. It's "free" in the sense that you have to work through saga 1 for it, but not quite given upon creation.
