Level-5 announced Fantasy Life 2 for smartphones during its Level-5 Vision event in Japan today.
Due out this summer in Japan, players will be able to make their own character and enjoy life in a new “Village,†which you’ll facilitate on behalf of god. Players will be able to view the village from a god-like perspective, as well as walk around it on their own with their allies. Up to four players will be able to play together and participate in activities such as fighting, cutting down trees, and mining.

Guys give it a shot.
While it'll probably have an in-game cash shop that doesn't mean it'll be pay2win.

all apps is pay 2 win
that is why they are "popular" for lazy ass companies
they make shitty ass games and casuals just eat up this shit like its fucking gold
theres like maybe 6 completely unique apps and the rest of them are clones with varrying degrees of quality but not a single one of them are any good in terms of an actual decent to play game

No they're not. Chain Chronicles isn't.

Generally if it's a one time purchase, it's not pay2win

The game formula(note that I haven't played the first Fantasy Life) seems easily tweakable to allow in-app purchases. Since you're playing "God", you're probably erecting buildings and such. That could take time, and you could spend money to speed up the progress. Crafting could take set amounts of time that you could speed up, you can gather more materials from a limited material set each day by paying, get a bit of an EXP boost through in-app purchases, that sort of stuff. If there's a town you can manage, then it's very likely they can use the model of many apps with a town-creation feature that have a premium component.
Not trying to purposely down someone's joy for the series; it's just when you develop a game to the smartphone games list, it's gonna be hard to set a non-freemium standard when the description has some notions of town building and crafting elements and a few taps away from your credit card.

From reading another article it seems to be the "first game" redone for smart phones with some new content (slightly similar to how Fantasy Life was rereleased in Japan as Fantasy Life Link with new content/features). In that vein the 2 is kinda misleading but a rose by any other name, right?
Also lol at splat. There are plenty of games that don't have cash shop shenanigans.

Hopefully it turns out like Brave Frontier, Chain Chronicle, or Final Fantasy Record Keeper.
