Nothing wrong with having a bit to drink once its legal.
Just be responsible about it. Don't drive till the next morning, don't drink more than you can handle, and take care not to go drinking too often it leads to trouble.
But having one good drink when you're together with friends and family on a saturday afternoon with nowhere to be and nothing important to do is quite acceptable.
I drink quite frequently with coworkers. It's actually pretty fun. Easier to socialize, and just more fun in general. Only downside is the hangovers if you get too carried away and the depression I sometimes encounter. For the most part though I keep myself in check and am probably the most reasonable drunk person amongst my coworkers.
That being said, I've seen what drinking can do to some of my coworkers. The responses people have to alcohol greatly vary from person to person and their personality in general. Some people can hold their alcohol very well (like myself) while others can't handle it at all.
With drinking, it's best to start out slow, and keep an eye on how you are feeling and knowing when to stop. Also the key is to eat while you drink so your stomach has a buffer to absorb that alcohol, avoid mixing different types of alcohol, and drink plenty of water.
