So I've created a character, and I've gotten its magic rank to master. Im really lost on what to do now. I really wanted to go into Alchemy, but Ive lost all motivation, mostly because how long it will take for me to get high ranks in it (lack of AP), even if I get 100 AP per month, Ill still be very weak for a long time. Do you think I should continue on the long path of becoming an Alchemist, or should I make a new character (human or giant) and do close combat.
Whatever one I choose, I will completely master it, getting the best possible gears, and the highest stats possible related to that talent. What do you think?

With the recent update, alchemy has a higher curve so you'll find close combat easier to use. But alchemy is useful and interesting skill set. I would personally say close combat.

Is it possible to get 100 AP per rebirth starting at a TTL that's > 1000 but < 2000? I'm assuming they're in that range, but if they're < 1000 or > 2000, then yeah idk...
To TS: I say combat because it's really REALLY op right now with bash and FH. Although, not sure why you're only getting 100 AP a month...they changed it to where TTL < 1000 get daily rebirths, and those above 1000 can do weekly rebirths. If this was before that update I'd understand, but 100 AP a month now...? That's a really low ratio, unless you're struggling around the range of 1000 - 2000.

Why not both? Be a Vate.
In seriousness. The combat update with 3 new skills was just released. If you're human, this would be especially beneficial.
Also 100 AP a month? Hmm... I recommend partying. If you're master of magic you can do hardmode. There's tons of people on your server. There's bound to be plenty of damage crazed people who'd be able to carry you.

The nice thing about alch is that you can just pick the skills you need if you're only using support alch with a guard cylinder. You can just grab the things like wind blast, sand burst, life drain and stuff like that.

I wouldn't split your skills among characters as it stunts your overall quality development. If you are thinking of changing skillsets just do so on the same character and continue to rank/accumulate AP.
I, personally, don't really think of alch as very viable these days as it's more of a support skillset. I would do melee if you are tired of magic. It's a good skillset to get into early on, not too hard to rank/train, and has gotten some recent updates that make it a bit better (final hit for example).

Close Combat because it'll help give you a bit of hp and be tanky which I'm pretty sure would be very important for mages. Alchemy on the other hand...yea as most people mentioned before me; it's more of a support skillset :llama_tea:

I would recommend you go with close combat. You will find that whacking a wand/staff around to defend yourself can use a little more damage. Getting the HP and DEF from close combat will also help tanking some hits. Alchemy is a rewarding skillset once you grind up the ranks. I would do it after you have some stats built up to enjoy the recent addition.
