So this notice appeared. Should I take it? Why or why not?
Also can W10 run Mabinogi?

Its not gonna instantly upgrade you, W10 hasn't even been released yet, and most likely it will work with Mabi, I like to wait a bit first because new OS' usually cause problems with games when they are first released. This is to reserve it for a free download when it does come out, which will be in the end of July or so. Then you have a whole year to take the free download and if you somehow don't take it by then and want W10, then have fun and buy it

That notice is kind of like a pre-order of a videogame on steam... (except it's free). It'll pretty much just download the files for you on the release day, and then ask you if you want to install or not.
If you want to use windows 10 or not is really up to you. I can't speak for mabi but other apps I use regularly I already tested as functional on the preview release.
If you hated windows 8 because of the start menu (seems to be the one and only issue with most people who hate it), the windows 10 start menu is more like a mix between windows 7 and windows 8, and can be configured to be much more like 7.

^And you can still use the more advanced menu by right clicking on the start button.
Windows 10 looks really nice. I'll wait a bit to make sure I won't suddenly lose the odd application or two to incompatibility, but I'll definitely get it in the 1-year free period.
Though watchig this video makes it hard. Maybe I'll get it on launch. I want an imagefile though so I can do a fresh install if I ever feel like.

And finally the mail app won't be total horseshit anymore.

Microsoft said you can get an ISO -after- doing your free upgrade, which I find annoying. I'm sure 50 different ways to get an ISO will appear within the first week of launch though.

I currently have 8.1 installed on my computer. I still haven't gotten the upgrade offer on the taskbar yet. I wanna use the technical preview for some time though.
If I use the technical preview will I still get the upgrade offer on my taskbar? Or should I wait until it shows up and then use the preview?

Anyone who owns Win 7 or Win 8 will have the option to upgrade to Win 10 for free for the next year. I don't see how using a technical preview would interfere with that.
You can trigger it on your own by clicking on the white window icon on the right of your taskbar.

On the topic of Mabinogi compatibility. If you want to play Mabinogi, you have to disable Hackshield. Mabinogi itself works with Windows 10, hackshield however forces a crash due to how shitty it is at wasting resources.
Seriously now, fuck you hackshield and may you burn in internal damnation.

Would be a good opportunity to stop playing Mabi. ;D

I've got the Windows 10 tech demo running here as well on a testing machine at work. So far it hasn't shown any new compatibility concerns.
The UI is amusingly enough, practical. It is sort of a hybrid of Windows 7 and Windows 8, giving you the best of both worlds for capability. This is what Windows 8 should have been like, running the new UI side by side with the old one to soften the transition.
Performance wise I haven't put it to the test yet, the test box it is on is too old and slow to have very good performance anyway.
Now I still am not getting my hopes up yet. Longhorn tech demo was quite pleasant too, and somehow managed to be quite mangled by the time it got released as Vista.
But if Microsoft doesn't change anything beyond bugfixes and releases Windows 10 in its current form, it might actually be the first time in a very long time that a new version of windows would be worth using.

Thank goodness PSO2 uses gameguard, otherwise I'd be in a panic right now.

I'm interested, but only if I can install it separately as a dual boot instead of wiping my 7. SOMETHING out there is going to hit compatibility issues.

GameGuard is actually really terrible in what it does to your PC (or at least it used to be.) Wouldn't be surprised if it also broke on Windows 10 until nP releases a patch.
