My PC is doing well, but I'm wondering if I ever had to format it, or even get a new PC alltogether, would my save data be deleted as well? Or is the save data on a server?
This would be useful to know for future reference in case worse comes to worse, because hey, things happen sometimes lmao.

In actual MMOs like Mabi, the save data is all on the server. This includes your custom controls and hotkeys.
After all, if the save data was on your computer, then you could just edit it to cheat at stuff.

most games on clients like steam and origin offer a "cloud" to put your game save data onto
however, if you play a game that doesn't have that, i suggest saving the data to a usb stick or on the internet so you can put it back later.
mmos, however, NEVER save onto your computer, so no worry there

I thought that's saved in the C:/Documents/Mabinogi file?

Holy crap it is.
How old is my settings file then? >>; I still have pre-genesis settings and this is like two computers later.

Can't blame anyone for getting it confused. IIRC, it's a bit of a mixture of both, where things related to UI settings are saved locally, while skill bar hotkeys (and obviously your game progress) is saved on the server.
Basically, you will probably need to re-customize some minor things on your client if you format your PC, and that's about it.
