  I just noticed in rockpaperscissorsdesc.xml, that all the locals except USA use different "taunt" emotes.
  
  There are 7 emotes, each with their own phrase. USA uses three of the emotes and three of the phrases.
  
  All 7 phrases (USA's are bolded):
  3 I've got a good feeling...
  4 I know I'm going to win, but let's have a good match.
  5 I think I'll be winning again this time.
  6 Now now, don't go crying when you lose.
  7 Oh come on, let me win once!
  8 I'm going to use Rock, so you should use Scissors, okay?
  9 You are way too predictable.

  I do find it funny, if a bit sexist/perverted, that the "Oh come on, let me win once!" is associated with the "female boast body" motion.

  You *CAN* cross-gesture. Males with confetti bow do female animations, and females with black mask staff do male animations.
  
  Tho they recently fixed it so things like rest and play dead no longer change with these items.

  I've been mistaken for a female before while wearing the male-only bear pajamas. If that doesn't say something about how weird certain gender locks are, I don't know what does.

  Gestures are simply skills that broadcast a motion (more or less, though the client sometimes decides the motion to use on its own). The server can also tell the client to play a particular motion, like it does in RPS. Motions are defined in the client's motion.xml and instruct the client which animations to use.
  
  The actual animations should all be cross-gender, since (afaik) humans all use the same bones, which is what animations hook into. Most NPCs are also humans, so the animations should work both ways there, as well. What DOESN'T work is cross species animations.
  
  In the case of boast, I assume the same gesture (skill) is given to both males and females, but that the server decides which motion to actually broadcast, based on the gender of the character.

  The bug (that was fixed some time during Renovation) where males holding a Confetti Bow would use female animations/poses worked fine, after all. Resting pose, riding broomsticks, sitting on the homestead moons, etc.
