Specifically, a couple of days ago I got it from a catchapon gift box. I have a reeeeally low level Mage character (total level between 100 and 200) without any heavy investment in gathering or production skills, so I probably won't be able to do rank much in only 10 minutes but nevertheless I'd like to get the most out of the situation.

Would it be better to use the boost with a gathering skill or a production skill? And what skill would you suggest to me? My bet would be on Herbalism because it's really useful along with Potion Making, but I don't have access to any huge pool of patches yet so I'm not sure if it's worth...

Does it expire? People generally save those for production skills when they're working with rare materials that are hard to get in bulk.

Go to the shop channel in Alexina, right click people and enter their homestead. If there is herbs, test if you can pick them and have a field day.
