This is apparently sort of an old story (around 2009), but I never heard about it until now and I didn't see a thread about it so I thought I would make one.
Due to new(in 2009) research, it seems it is possible that Hitler may have escaped WWII alive after all.
Here's the timeline.
1945 - Berlin is bombed, later the Russians claim to have found the corpses of Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun in a bunker. It was reported that Hitler had shot himself and Eva had taken cyanide, a piece of Hitler's skull was reported missing, thought to be from the shot to the head. The Russians burn the corpses and bury them in a secret location to avoid anyone trying to dig them up.
1946 - Stalin, not believing Hitler is dead sends a crew on a secret mission to Berlin to look for any remaining traces. They uncover the missing skull piece with the bullet hole, part of his jaw and take same parts of the blood stained sofa. Stalin still didn't believe it and issued a gag order, the skull fragment, jaw piece and couch fragments are stored in a warehouse and forgotten.
1970 - The KGB retrieves the corpses from their secret burial location, cremates them and scatters the ashes in a nearby river(Mmm, Hitlerwater).
2000 - the Russian State Archive in Moscow staged an exhibition, "The Agony of the Third Reich". During this exhibition the fragment, jaw bone, and couch pieces were displayed among other things.
2009 - American archaeologist and bone specialist flies to Moscow and is granted 1 hour to inspect the items. During this time he takes swabs and samples from the bloody couch, skull fragment and jaw bone. After closing down his lab for several days to work solely on this case, taking crime-lab scale precautions to prevent anything interfering or going wrong with the data, he made a discovery - none of these things were Hitler. The information and DNA they were able to recover from the bones and blood were that of a female between the ages of 20 and 40, meaning unless Hitler changed from a 56 year old man into a 25 year old girl before his death, neither the blood nor bones could possibly be his. So who were the bodies that were found and burned by the Russians at the end of WWII?
Regardless of whether he escaped or not, he's certainly dead by now. He'd be around 110 at this point. Its interesting how these things can be discovered so many years later though, guess the conspiracy theorists may have been right for once.
"99% of conspiracy theories are false, but doesn't that also mean 1% are true?"
