Hooray! I had three wisdom teeth pulled out simultaneously, using anesthetics. Should I be absolutely terrified of braces now?

People are afraid of chickens and spiders. That doesn't mean you should be :P Just be prepared to not be able to eat certain foods and for things to be stuck in them.

I have had braces for about two years long time ago, it'll feel weird the first month or two, but you'll get used to it after, and you can still eat almost anything you want as long as you take good care of your teeth. I ate popcorn, hard candy, and gum a lot during my time with braces still, lol.

Brah, lemme tell you - braces aren't shit. My teeth were jacked up a kid. Thankfully my stepmother is a dental hygienist and had them straightened out.
I had a Herbst Appliance for over a year. The rods have a tendency to disconnect, leaving you with up to four mouth daggers until you fixed it.

They poke against my cheeks/gums. They weigh down my teeth. Naturally there's some pain.

Braces shouldn't hurt unless they're rubbing up against your gums and that will definitely happen.

I'd forgotten about the dental wax used to ease the pain.

They're sour generally the first few days after tightening but after that they don't really hurt.
