I know there are a few threads about this, but my sitiuation is more than just which one to START playing.
Ok, so i have a giant whose level 74 and has r5 wm (i need like 8 more AP for r4) Which though is very strong (130 str w/ title) but kinda boring because its just WM WM WM WM WM assualt WM WM WM WM. D: and then that works >_>; But i love how easy WM is to train so i could get r1 once i get the AP and then maybe go into alchemy, because the mp cost for giants on magic is waaaay too high (8 mp for one Lb, wtf is this)
Then i have an elf that is 13X, but i kinda messed up his skills a bit D: I mean he has like rA ranged, r9 Magnum, r6 refining, rA production, rD metallurgy, r9 IB, rC lightning bolt, rD Firebolt, r9 wm. and a few other skills that kinda mess him up D: This character is fairly fun but waaaay too weak for his level. He can't solo SCC very well on basic, and has low dex D: I can't stand refining though, the grind and expense is so immense it caused me to quit last time (that and WM on my human @_@) But becoming a mage is very slow and even though i would have a large mana pool i would run out quite fast from spamming LB, and mp pots can be so expensive D:
Then i have my human (whom im not reallly playing) because though he's 35X his skills are sooooo messed up @_@ he's like a magic/melee/archer that is pretty bad at all of them D:
Now that i think about it i really don't like the fact that in Mabi you have to keep spamming one skill over and over and over and over and over just to rank it up, so you can spam a skill over and over and over and over. And then that you have to focus on one skill at a time (to be efficiant) but then this makes me get super bored of that skill and want to rank/play something else @_@
help D: mew isn't sure what he's going to do at this point...quitting and just playing DFO is among those options

mabi is somewhat realistic about things like this too, generally people irl get better at something by PRACTICING it
and my opinion is basically if you don't put forth the effort you don't deserve it
first thing is, you shouldn't be working on multiple characters if you don't have a main that can support them
personally I'd play to hang out with people, socialize, have fun etc but iunno if those are one of those options, it makes MMORPGs more enjoyable
and if my post seems offensive/rude I don't mean it to be, just happens to be the best way I could respond

i do know you get better at something by practicing it o.o but grinding isn't fun is what im saying..and i have about 500k and some items that are worth beyond that that i can sell, so money isn't that much of a problem (well i do want ice spear but that's a bit different) And since i don't know if im going to quit or not i can't join a guild to socialize (which trust me, sucks)
SO. I think what im going to do is...god dammit i still don't know which one to play D: I think i actually may just go back to my human and leave WM where it is, and start ranking up my magic or AR or something (i have r1 ranged and r9 AR lol, but i have crap dex so its not really worth using them D:)

I think the best advice is just to take it slowly
you'll have more fun that way

My giant is just a little higher than yours and smash is much more effective at that level. I rank Smash before WM on my characters because it allows me to level more efficiently on Connous bears. Wm is definately next but smash to me makes more sense for giants at first.

really o.o? but doesn't that make your CP higher which makes this harder? and how effeciant are Connous bears in comparison to SCC on basic?
Also i think i'm going to just go on my human again, probably my strongest char. I could probably get r1 AR and r1 magnum and that should give me at least a decent amount of dex o: or i could just go magic and get r1 LB r1 thunder o:
many possibilites :) anyone willing to play with me? I still may quit so guilds are a no-no (well it would be nice but i probably wouldn't get accepted D:)

1. You should focus on one character.
2. Heed my defacto two word advice.
2a. Windmill. Refine.
2b. Wizards and Alchemists can live without those skills.
2c. Archers need the will and the versatility.
3. Human archers are underrated.
3a. Arrow Revolver is accurate and fast. At higher ranks, you can max aim out of windmill/recovery.
3b. Human archers lack the burst DPS of Final Magnum.
3c. You can look forward to Crash Shot, a badass ranged skill that trades reliability for massive splash damage. The skill effectively does not cause agro.
3d. Life skill dexterity grinding is painful.
4. All races can excell at any form of combat end-game.
4a. The exception being Giants. G12S2 javelins are still underpowered.
5. You don't have to use the same skill again and again unless you want it at a high rank.
5a. Mix up similar class skills smartly.
Zyrus, did you read my post about lightningbolt? I recently updated the wiki because the lightning damage bonus was incorrect...
Lightningbolt should be able to reach around 1070 non-crit damage in G13. Hopefully Tellos is correct, if not i'm certain that someone (hengsheng) will correct me. Either way, I've seen a noticeable damage increase.

Screw elves and humans, giants are where it's at~
[IMG]http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/5403/mabinogi20100907003.jpg"]Giant Alchemists in particular are great. You don't need to spam windmill to rank it up really, no matter what your cp is it won't be a huge issue on a giant. Feel free to rank smash or any alchemy skills you want in the meantime and just let windmill come as it may.

Haha. Really? :O!
ima start ranking up my alchemy then :D Do you have a good order of things? I like the Flamer in particular but is it the best :O?
edit:
The one thing though is with giants, they can't use magic very effectivly D: They are really only good for Melee and Alchemy :/ I mean look at your guide in your sig. Giants can't do that very effectivly (low mana pool :/)

I'm a human, and i like giants over elves. (Acctually i hate elves)
Giants are one of those races where, your huge. Theyre those cuddly bastards.
Now, going into alchemy? Any plans of becomming RA? if so then you must get everything you can up for Journal points, as in Journal points in the character screen, aswell as your alchemy skills. (Most alchemists try to achieve royal for the boosts it gives)
Really, being part melee is a helpful advantage, and windmill can be put into so many combos aswell.
Really, just rank whatever you feel like, following everyones suggestions isn't going to define you who are as a player, it just defines your like everyone else in how you choose to do everything.
For example, i was melee, because when i started, i had Rank 1 WM and some decent melee skills, a few months after, i ended up with high dex, meaning my ranged skills were being raised, and i became a Ranged player. Then i got bored and dipped into Alchemy. So i dont have some super attack, and im nothing special, im not even strong for being over 1k+, but i play because its fun, and how i do my skills makes it feel fun aswell.
I like seeing giants play, theyre good mounts in dungeons.

You can try water cannon, it deals alot of damage and quite easy to rank.
