Touhou

  Anyone here heard/played Touhou?
  
  If you haven't heard of Touhou it's basically a japanese shooter game (Not an FPS)... More specifically, a bullet hell shooter, with a story. Touhou consists of shooting stuff dodging little bullet things and progressing through stages. There's also modes such as easy, normal, hard, and lunatic. Lunatic being the hardest and the most frustrating.
  
  All the characters you see in the games are female, but story wise, there are males. Just not in any of the games. Story wise each game's main stories are ones that end in a # without a .# after it. Games that are for example ##.# are usually side-stories and sometimes not canon. And, when a story arc ends Phantasmagoria will be in the title.

  So aside from that, what do you guys think of Touhou and stuff?

  There used to be a decent sized Touhou community on these forums. Those people have since moved on. There also used to be a massive touhou thread as well.
  
  I'm a huge fan of Touhou personally, but as I said, very little touhou lovers left on these forums. Chiyuri is the only active touhou fan that I talk to on a regular basis and she wanders around these forums very occasionally.

  Touhou fans come in all shapes and sizes. I personally can barely do Normal and can only seem to clear Easy. So you don't have to enjoy the games to be a fan of the series as there's enough fanworks and spinoff games to make it easy to at least enjoy the characters.
  
  So yes, I would say that does count.

  I've been listening to a couple of doujin circles who arrange Touhou music for... 6 years now? Since Comiket 77 or something. My interest in Touhou shifted to there after I stopped playing the games.

  This guy here also made a Mabi x Touhou spinoff game.
  
  I like bullet games but I think bullet hell is way too much for me. Never personally touched the series.

  I love Touhou! ZUN samas music got me into it and always been a a big fan ever since! You can obviously tell what my favorite game and character is. MoF will always be my personal favorite though Perfect Cherry Blossom would have to come to a close second mainly because of the Letty Whiterock and the Prismriver Sisters.

  Chen is obviously my favorite if you couldn't tell. That and the entire Yakumo family interests me. Close 2nd would probably go to Nitori.

  I wouldn't call myself a fan, but I like Touhou. I really only care for Yuugi and Suika though. The games are alright, bullet hell is one of my favorite type of game.
  
  Personally I think the fan things are better then the official stuff.
