Returning from unknown amount of years of retirement, i have some silly questions.

  As my title says, i returned a few days ago, I used to be a giant mabi player and super active on the boards, if anyone here still remembers me, but I've done nothing but work towards finishing my master of fishing title since logging back on, 1.7k scrolls till im done, woo, it's given me some time to sit back and examine some new stuff, but other things I'm really lost on, if you could break things down into small idiot proof pieces for me
  
  
  1. What's the new fighting meta? When i left martial arts was god, followed by elf range then everything else was a grey blurr. I'm human if it helps, stats are as follows

  No gear unless you count a fishing rod and un enchanted/upgraded adonis gear, well gear. Really poor leveled no good title equipped.
  
  Everything for martial arts is maxed, everything for ranged except urgent shot is maxed, everything for basic melee, combat mastery, smash windmill, counter, assault slash, charge, critical hit.
  I've just not stat whored all that much, all things considering.
  
  2. How much has urgent shot affected human archery?
  
  3. Is my old endgame gear still not trashy by today's standards? It wasn't perfect back then but it was still quite usable

  7. Are there any really bitchy skills with low cp requirements or anything i should get blasted out right away before i fuck myself by not doing it sooner? Windmill/refining comes to mind.
  
  8. The new alban knight or something missions, read a threat floating around here about them but i'd prefer a tl;dr how to find/do/why run them
  
  9. Anyone on Alexina, where do all the high leveled people who actually run shit hang out now? I can't for the life of me find them.

  Elven archery is strong and fighter is out and at its prime sounds like G16 before genesis, before the bard skillset. When Genesis hit, archery took a big hit (or so people say). And afterwards, things came out that outshined fighter. If you ask most people, they'd say Fighter is shit now but it wasn't nerfed, and I still use it and think it gets things done in a fun way.
  
  Skillsets that came out after Genesis: Puppeteer (Str+Dex, AoE Damage), Dual Guns (Str+Int, AoE and fast single target), Ninja (Str+Will, mostly support from what I've heard). I haven't tried Ninja or Puppet myself so I can't talk on their behalves. All I can say though is that Ninja will eff up your CP more than any other skillset in mabi. So I personally suggest you don't touch Ninja at all until you get everything else CP dependent out of the way. Ninja will drown you in Str, HP, and Will. For every 1 Str and HP, you get 1 CP, and for every 1 Will you get 0.5 CP. I think its much worse than the skill CP Magic gives you.
  
  By Alban thingy, do you mean the Raids or the Dungeon.
  
  For Raids, you run them to get Divine Exp. When your Divine Exp levels you get a point you can allocate to the subskills of the Divine Knight skills, provided you meet the other requirements. You can reset them, but you still need to level up your divine whatever to get a lot of points to allocate. Right now those skills are pretty much only useful in that raid and some future content maybe because not much has come out since then. That Raid also has the potential to drop non-blacksmith quality of the new weapons, and materials to craft the new weapons.
  
  The Alban dungeon's also gives divine exp but a much lower amount than the raids. The main star of this is the Totems that come from the rewards of this dungeon. Haven't done much of this myself so better wait for someone else to reply to this thread to give a better gist.

  I'm not sure about my cp requirement, i THINK i have everything heavily cp gated done, if all hell breaks loose nexon gave me 2 perfect ALL reset caps, so i'll bust one and dedicate my life to ranking up that one skill, and how much str/will are we talking here? Martial arts/range were my most used combat styles, and if we're talking enough will here that's very, very temping to me.
  
  And what about dex, anything that drowns you in dex?

  • Way of the Gun: Forces normal shots to be critical and use no durability. High 1:1 damage over a set duration.

  • Kunai Storm: 500% damage (in-game says 400% but it's a typo) over a set area. With range reforges it can cover a lot of ground. Also doesn't trigger aggro.
    
  • Sakura Abyss: 250% damage x 15 over a wide area (especially with range reforges), but fairly long preparation (15 seconds) and cooldown (5 minutes). KR massively buffed it though, giving it 2x more damage, 2x faster charge, 1.5x more range.

  • Hydra Transmutation: Very high area of effect damage over time. Also doesn't put Hide on cooldown.

  • Firebolt: Extremely high single target damage with proper enchants and magic attack or something.
    
  • Fireball: Load time reduced to 2 seconds, 10 seconds for all five charges, and time to impact also lowered to 2 seconds. Intelligence reducing load time is still present, along with other modifiers, so you can potentially reduce it to less than a second per charge.
    
  • Inspiration: Refills 50% of your total mana, with literally no drawback other than standing still for 2 seconds (any mana you have when Inspiration is interrupted is kept), with a 3 minute cooldown. Big middle finger to Respite, Meditation and Ladeca, and makes mana regeneration from manageable through effort (producing potions, ranking Meditation, getting books or Holy Eagle Mask, etc.) to ridiculously easy.
    
  • Lightning Rod: Extremely high linear damage of 30k crit average, or ~100k endgame, that puts even Hail Storm to shame in its low ranks. 15 sec cooldown and 2 sec to fully charge; uncharged is still very powerful. Surprisingly it uses drastically low mp that shames even Elf Ice Spear.

  • Lance Charge: Lots of modifiers to make it do 1 million damage or so.
    
  • Final Hit: 400% damage per hit. Imagine dual wielding for 800% damage. Also no longer cancels on knockdown, and no longer consumes durability for sword/axe/blunt weapons.
    
  • Bash: 460% damage per hit, 506% if dual wielding Celtic Royal Knight Swords, and no cooldown, effectively putting Smash to shame. Has a feature that lets you "double bash" with faster weapons (or slower with strict timing), for 920%/1012% damage.
    
  • Renovation in a nutshell: made Melee Humans extremely broken.

  • Throwing Attack: Cooldown lowered to 4 seconds, along with modified strength:damage ratio and atlatls being upgradable. Its viability is arguable, but its damage can reach about ~100k, making Giants actually powerful in a skillset they're not supposed to excel in.

  • Shield of Trust: Want an alternative to Life Drain? Heals you and two other people for 210 HP and 38% Wounds every 40 seconds. Kind of worth pointing out for a strong wound recovery move.
    
  • Judgment Blade: 900% damage on a linear line every 40 seconds, with a little long loading. Bonuses can get it up to 1215% damage and +150% crit damage.
    

  
  
  Martial Arts became largely outdated, and Elf Archery is still powerful to some extent.

  Barely. The skill is extremely hard to use and has tremendous amount of flaws.
  

  
  
  • Wastes two shots of ammo to make the third one more accurate. When using only normal quivers, that can be problematic.
    
  • Can only be used three seconds after the prior shot misses, so lag can fuck you up for trying to use it.
    
  • Has weird trigger conditions; ranged attack hitting Defense can allow Urgent to be used, but only NORMAL ranged.
    
  • Has pushback, which is bad when used at long distances and making the enemy go out of range.
    
  • Doesn't even stun or push back mobs using Defense (without shield) or Ranged Ping, failing as a self-defense measure.
    
  • Does no wound damage. Minor, but very unusual for a skillset that's known for wounding.

  Not really that many that are incredibly CP intensive. The only one that actually requires CP is Rank 2 Enthralling Performance, which becomes impossible to train if your CP goes too high due to its success rate being based on CP, though you can bypass that with skill training seals.

  Girgashiy Raid: You fight a colossal monster whose moves takes a huge percentage of your health. However, the rewards are extremely lackluster, so no one does it.
  
  Alban Knight Training Camp: It's really just another style of Peaca Abyss located behind Nerys in Dunbarton. I personally have no motivation to run it, but others say it gives high-end enchants and stuff.

  And for the stats...
  I'd say if you plan on sticking with Archery, focus on Dex first with all the life skills, but also work on your Luck for Critical chance.
  And yes 1500 total of Str and Will is totally possible, although I'm not even close to that yet, haha.

I quit mabi years ago when it came down to life skilling, so i know i have a lot to do there, i'd just want to know the fastest for most dex ones i can do to see results fastest

  • Control Marionette: Strengthens Marionette stats greatly: 30 min damage, 55 max damage, 20 crit, 15 balance, and 15% Act skill cooldown reduction when strings are attached. Also transfers 70% of your damage, crit, and balance to Marionette when attached.
    
  • Colossus/Pierrot Marionette: Also strengthens stats greatly: 80 min damage, 190 max damage, 60 crit, 50 balance, 1.2k HP, 50 defense, 25 protection, 20 magic defense, 10 magic protection. They both have the same stats sans aesthetics, but Colossus is what you want to put ahead because Pierrot's Act 2: Threshold Cutter is much slower. You still want both in case one dies, and later on cycling between the two to control aggro and take heat off the other.

  • Act 6: Crisis: 200% damage and rounds up enemies in one spot, making it easier to DPS mobs.
    
  • Act 4: Rising Action: "Puppet Windmill" for 300% damage.
    
  • Act 2: Threshold Cutter: 200% + 200% + 300% = 700% damage for single target.
    
  • Act 1: Inciting Incident: 200% single target damage just to push someone away. Pretty useful to save someone or yourself in a bad spot.

  • Puppet's Snare: Deals 85 fixed damage per second for 6 seconds and then 70% damage, while binding a single target in place, but can be interrupted if the target gets knocked down. Very useful for Blinkers and Ghasts.
    
  • Wire Pull: Pulls a single target towards you for 250% damage.
    
  • Act 9: Invigorating Encore: Generates a 60% damaging aura, while giving the marionette buffs that consist of 40 min damage, 60 max damage, 30% load time reduction, and an AI. You build up a meter by using Act skills to be able to use this, though the gauge isn't shared between the two marionettes. All these bonuses, however, are negligible, and the AI is crappy, only designed to follow and use Act 1 and 2 on its own, along with drastically less damage due to being unconnected from Control Marionette. Furthermore, since you're also constantly switching between both marionettes, unsummoning a marionette cancels Act 9, which also has a 90 sec cooldown.
    

  
  
  Overall puppet has very powerful area of effects and decently strong single target, at the cost of fairly long cooldowns. However, the biggest flaw of puppet is that all its skills cause invulnerability frames on knockdown, like Smash, so it's ironically terrible for party play without any synergy.

Since you said the old meta with puppertry is outdated, my question is is it even worth sinking the ap into it, i mean i guess stats, but i'd still enjoy something that would help with my combat improvement more than just raw stats

  Basically just focus final hit/bash to dominate single-target in general, ninja+guns for best aoe in general, and select magic spells for low effort extreme bang-for-your-buck and situational efficiency. Puppets are just utility with crisis reforge pretty much.

  Not that much. Puppetry on its own is still powerful enough to hold its own in Lord/Abyss, meanwhile Melee and Magic are just blatantly overpowered.

  Everyone i seem to talk to seems to be pushing me towards final hit, but I'll definitely look into dual wield mastery and bash after I'm done finishing off my bard tab, it has a small handfull of skills left to rank 1 that are sitting at rank 2-3
