I was wondering why do some people wanna register and play Korean, Chinese etc. versions of the game without knowing the language?
Note: The foreign section looked like only people who play on KR and other servers can post there so I just put it here.
I am pretty sure asking this isn't bad lol, I am just corious, Idk I woudn't wanna play a game that I don't understand anything in plus we have a English version so it isn't a one unique game that isn't in English:chomp2:

Most foreign server have the most recent update. That is a number 1 reason why people do wanna play on another server. As for me, I'm just waiting for KR tester to report what they found... and that's it for me. But some people may want to try it first hand.
But I never found someone really abandon NA server for another server before. I may try JP server because I think I can read a little JP and I may have a better connection to that server (best connection to JP from my country is... about 200ms). But I still play on NA. So I think most people just want to try new environment, or just want to try new updated. That's all.

Good portion of people are curious and I doubt many of them are either data miners(which doesn't even require an acc mind ye), or testers which if they plan on that they'd have to invest about a full month of dedication to get more work in than the vets.
And that would be for content out of reach or data that has to be relied on the KR forums and folks who delve there to find out. I.e., does the divine tribolt having int magic get the mythbuster's seal of yay or nay? This would be getting the mats, wasting time getting a sufficient rank of MC(About two weeks work straight if you're okay to r5), and testing it physically.
Additionally, there's several things that are different mechanically over there, namely the cast speed fix (Which I tend to poke on the most, don't mind me), and the difference in servers. I believe KR would end up better for some players in EU namely due to infrastructure, but don't take my word on it. I doubt a single person would sanely want to dedicated play on there for any reason besides the testing gig unless they were completely new, would rather play in korean than english, and had a better connection there than to USW servers.

I think a lot of people go into it without thinking much of it. Most people think that the fresh start in a more "advanced" game is somehow going to be "better." That's the vibe I get from most people who have asked me, personally, about information (not related to mabination).
In my experience, testing around on the foreign client can be fun but it does lose it's edge and quickly becomes tedious in my opinion. I think this is why the KR test team initially had some trouble keeping people on the team, but I could be wrong and I don't speak for them. I know very few people who have switched clients and stayed. The ones I do know are typically people who live in the region and thus have an easier time accessing the client anyway.

Only reason why I play on the KR Server is for testing reasons alone. It's why I'm part of the KR Test Crew, is as a service to the community in providing information.
To that end, I play just enough to get the main information without the really difficult specifics and then go back to playing NA. As for people leaving the team, it has more to do with inactivity and having busy lives as it requires quite the bit of dedication, time, and effort to organize, translate, process/make videos, and share that information with the community. It's not something you can invest a few hours in and be done with it. No, it's almost akin to a part-time job.
Even organizing and doing a thorough job of data mining takes almost an entire day or more pending on the size of the content you are trying to organize and collect information on.
The other reason people leave is the speed at which KR pumps out updates. Due to KR having the habit of spreading out their updates in a period of big update, event fillers for 6 months, then another big update. It tends to create quite the difference in work loads.
However, right now our team is stable in terms of people being active so I don't anticipate any further people will leave.

I see a lot of people that are quite misinformed and think that Nexon NA is the black sheep or something. They think that KR doesn't have bugs, that it doesn't go down for full-day maint, that it's not gacha-crazy, and stuff like that.
And I'd like to take a second to clear some of the most common misconceptions right here: Sorry, but KR can be even worse at times. They sometimes have to pull the game down after a patch to do a second or third patch to fix issues, most of the items they have that we don't came from gachas, they charge pon to replay saga episodes, etc.

Oh man, you should have seen KR severs during the early stages of Alban. Ridiculously buggy.

Thanks for all the replys everyone, I couldn't understand this since well Mabinogi isn't a game were you can say ''oh it is only in Korea so it is unique and want to play it'' as much as I am trying to understand the reasons for people wanting to play Korean version of the game I don't see such a huge reason to do it, I mean for so many people to do it since we have Korean testers on here who bring the information on the forums if needed anyway.
I will never believe that Korean servers in any way are better, yeah sure the service may be better (quicker updates, staff responding more) since it is the country it comes from, but it is still Nexon and the servers will be the same. Mabinogi was always poorly made (as much as I love Mabinogi people have to admit... it is glitchy like hell). I don't expect for Korean version to be any better.

The foreign section is for people who can't play the other servers to find out about potentially upcoming things in the NA server. Feel free to ask questions there if you are curious about anything. It's there for people like you.
