So I spent a total of probably around 8-9 hours after an 11hr shift researching, re-installing, editing files and folders, trying to find out why the hell my Mabinogi wasn't opening, and maybe it's because I'm extremely over-tried at the moment, but this is really pissing me off and I need some help in figuring this out. If anyone has any suggestions, ideas, or if there's truly a God and someone knows how to fix this easily, I would really appreciate the help <3 :)
P.s. This is my new computer and it just updated to Windows 10 so I'm wondering if that's the cause of the issue, it was on Windows 7 before and worked perfectly fine.

it's windows 10.
Hackshield doesn't work on windows 10, so mabi won't run. You can apparently mod to remove hackshield but I don't know how and you can't publicly ask how on this forum, though if nexon doesn't fix this crap soon I might make an exception to that rule.

I haven't upgraded to 10 myself, but people state that if you install and run Vindictus and allow it to crash, that will get Hackshield running far enough along to allow Mabi to run after it.

Can you please make an exception
i don't want to have to hack in game
but i want to play....
and come on it Nexon it not going to be fixed for a long time yet
i know you can get it runing by Vindictus but that is a big download
oh i have a good idea is there any mods that just by pass the hack shield and nothing else?
if so make a guild to make mabi run on windows 10 that why people don't have to share real hacks

That's exactly what's happening to me! The stupid Hackshield has an error! I reinstall I do EVERYTHING! Nothing works! I went to the Mabinogi Support on Microsoft Edge and they tell me how to fix it! But I can't find the Mabinogi Installation Folder! Help!

right click -> properties on your mabinogi shortcut and you'll see where it's installed.

Nexon seems to be at the mercy of Ahnlab here, which is the maker of Hackshield.
..To be honest, I would love if Nexon did away with Hackshield altogether, seeing as how it's confirmed to stealth install a rootkit without permission, which there is no official way to remove from your computer... it makes me uneasy but I love playing Mabinogi. A small bit of a catch 22, I suppose.
I also hear Windows 10 is very non-gaming friendly at the moment, that may have changed in the last month or so I guess but it's not seeming like it. I'm content with 8.1, though.

I've had no issues with any other games on windows 10. Even mabi itself runs fine, just hackshield is broken. There's a fix though posted in the guides section.

I too have had no issues with games on Windows 10. What gave you the idea that Windows 10 was non-gamer friendly? I've had Windows 10 since it's initial release and have had 0 issues with games or playing games. It even has a gamer toolbar and Xbox integration.

People I know who switched kept telling me none of their stuff worked, so it seemed that way. Is this not that case?
This seems a bit off the topic to me, may I PM you? I have a few questions about Windows 10, if that's alright?

IIRC, Windows10 is a very efficient OS other then Windows 7 so far. With the improvement of Windows 8 and speed of Windows 7 combine together... Atleast that is what I heard.
Also, most people who used Windows 10 only have a few problem on getting their old game to load up. Which is not news. It happen almost every time you change OS to higher one.

It hasn't been the case for me. Only thing that didn't work for me was Mabinogi due to Hackshield. I don't know how much about Windows 10 I could answer for you though. Yoorah and Osay are the bigger computer experts of these forums.
