WTF Mabinogi Copyright?!

  The update didn't include a client patch so the books still exist... but the contents of books aren't actually in the client, they're fetched live from a book server. I'd expect the contents on the book server to be replaced, but the server still appears to have them.

  So I guess they just made the books unobtainable, and possibly wiped existing copies from accounts?

  Those came from contests didnt they? Where the people who entered agreed to let their designs be used by mabinogi? The books must be something different

  Books came from the same method as far as I know.

  Maybe the creators of said books actually went ahead and asked for some sort of payment for their work...

  The texts are still there, keep the text somewhere for yourself if you really want to keep them, though I don't think the text will be gone any time soon.
