Has anybody ever tried using the artisan removal kit on an item that is special upgraded? Will removing the artisan remove the special upgrade as well? Or will it not even let me remove the artisan upgrade?

Can't use artisan reset on an item that's been gem upgraded, and you can't do special upgrade on an item that's not been gem upgraded.

Gem upgrading renders the item upgrades locked-in permanently, as in the prof doesn't even show up on the item anymore.
