you could probably find a repair shop near by but it's going to cost you a lot. If customer support tells you they need to replace it and that it will be a regular ol' 3DSXL then you'll either have to accept that fate or have them ship it back, sell it for parts and buy a new one for about $200. Getting it repaired at a repair shop will easily cost you that much and it's only really worth it if you have an edition no longer manufactured and sold as new which Majora's Mask is.

Splat, all Nintendo products have a 1 year warranty on them, but... they don't cover physical damage. You can always try giving their customer support a call or set up a repair yourself at their
support page and see if their repair price is worth it to you (I think 3DSXLs are $85 to repair? Forgot how much my 3DS cost to repair but it was around that figure), but you get a new 1 year warranty, and they fix anything else that might be wrong with it [if they can]).

ok I called Nintendo
and cuz my console is LE they will do everything they can to avoid doing a full out replacement
2-3 weeks of sending it out getting it repaired and sent back
I need to keep the SD card in there
$90 with ship and handeling
and I get 180 days to mail it
also if do it through visa or mastercard / paypal wont be charged till it arrives
I thought that be more stressful and confusing
^~^
I'm gonan get help and set up a thing on wednesday

I repaired my Fire Emblem 3DS with nintendo before.
They called me and asked if I was okay with a replacement 3DS.
At this point, I was just going to do it myself, so I asked for my DS back.
They fixed it
yey
i still have a feeling that even if they replace the screen its gonna be the cheaper type they started useing at some point
apparently they have top screens that are similar to bottom screen, then they has a higher quality screen that mine has
main way to to tell difference was to rotate the console back at an angle the bottom screen would get brighter when doing this if top screen did same you have a cheap screen if it stays fully coloured and doesnt get bright you have the more expensive screen and apart for that theres really no difference other than bragging rights ?
