hi I am trying to do the fishing journal collection an it says collect at least 15 fish 5 stars an I have looked at wiki an it doesn't say what the difference in how to tell if u got a 5 star fish or not and I got no clue what the way to tell if u got a 5 star fish so if someone knows please tell me

i believe each species of fish requires a certain size or larger to count as 5 stars

A fish can be 5 stars if its caught via the minigame and reaches a certain minimum length for the fish. Generally auto-fishing wont get you above 3 stars ever. Auto-fishing at r1 however damn near guarantees getting a 5 star fish iirc.

The wiki has rough size ranges of 5 star fishes, but it's basically get the max size if you want 5 stars.
You can only tell how many stars you have only after you catch all 30 fishes once.
