The only thing I like about Genesis is the faster pace gaming. But honestly I don't see any sense to nerfing range, especially Crash Shot. How the fuck did they forget to replace Final Shot's "load time decrease" function.

Same reason they "forgot" to change a whole lot of other things.
Like brio shearing just regular protection and ignoring magic protection.
the salt is real here.
Like Gunner having massive fucking errors with range determination, where if you're even 20 range offset from your true position, you can get locked for a full two seconds until the packet spam issue(read, virtually the same shit as elf lag) stops.
Like shield defense using old protection instead of new protection, thus your vales immortality. And thus your shield+ms insanity. Why bother using lightning shield at red dragon when he goes up when you can just use a medium shield, defense, and ms? Hell, you can even tank the damn meteorites if you've got enough of a ratio(I take 100~200s with ~430 matk, r6, and mana reduction set effect).
As with many other forgotten mechanics that were never changed. They're strewn across the game like sprinkles on a sundae; all over it.

Mabi is dying?
I don't think so. I only come around Saga (or more preciesly, when SAO realsed in KR), so I don't know about the old stuff. But I do know I love this game, and I plan to stay here. Elite SMs still providing me a challenge (ttl 3500, wise spellsword), due the fact I tend to use what I like, not what's the strongest, and I'm f2p. As I stated I have not experienced the old combat system, but from what I saw and read, I wouldn't like it. Mabi is still "slow action" compared to other games I play with "fast action". There is a huge variety of things to do, and right when I think about leaving for a few weeks, Nexon be like "nope you're not" and throws something that keeps me constantly on Mabi.

It means a higher percentage of your players are end game and can acquire gold easier than the majority of players on other servers?
not at all lol, the fb groups have had a mass chain of people quitting and selling all their gold/items for $

except on our server when gold rates are at 6m to 10$ you KNOW something is wrong here
i thought 5m unlocks and 450k fine reforges were just being sold by idiots... is it really 6m now? Is that why i struggle to find decent priced items despite half off sale...
im still having a hard time believing.

As I've said in the past, the biggest issue with Mabinogi is DevCat's complete lack of vision. They have a nasty habit of implementing redundant systems that are quickly rendered obsolete. Most meaningful content continues to be unrewarding or inaccessible compared to comparatively easily obtained goods from gachapon and events.
There's also the problem that the game receives new content at an exceedingly slow rate, which now poses an issue because players can rush to "end-game" in a fraction of the time where they find very little waiting for them.
---
Mabinogi isn't dead - it's undead. I don't know when it died and that doesn't really matter. It's still moving around and it's still doing things, as has been the case for an undetermined number of years. Nobody knows when it'll finally collapse but the magic is long gone.

Not this quickly, NX prices jumped from a going rate of 3m to 5m for 10k in a matter of about 3-4 months
It's not about the fact that it happens, it's the rate at which it occurs

The game will always appear to be dead to older players who used to have tons of friends playing and now none of them ever log in anymore.
There's also the issue of the learning curve on this game. In the old days you had a few paths starting out, not so many skills to choose from. These days new player almost need a dedicated expert in-game guiding them because they have no fucking idea what to do. If you ever tried making new characters recently you'll know you get bombarded with skill tutorials and mainstream quests. They give G19 to people who haven't even rebirthed yet. Then they wonder why so many new players quit after a few days.
It's one of the very few downfalls of a game that offers almost complete freedom. You have so many choices to make that you end up not making any. Unlike single player games, there's no save points in an MMO, and if you want to start a "new game" you start a whole new character.

The fact that it stayed for 2-3m for 10k nx for FIVE years while it jumped from 200k to 2m in 2 years (prob less, i was MIA during that time) shows that it can happen "overnight" or not at all.
Think about the rate of players who can make a large amount of gold quickly. And the amount of whales left in this game

It didn't stay at 2-3m for five years, it rose gradually over time lol. It was faster at first when the 300k/10$ rates stopped being relevant, but that's to be expected since mabi was a newer game at the time. Also, the 300k/$10 was too low anyway since gold was so much harder to get back then, and people spent a long time trying to make gold for even just the stock npc items. So yeah, it makes sense that the rate went from 300k to about 1-1.5m in the matter of 2 years time.
At this point, npc rates are hardly relevant anymore, and yet the game still faces this much inflation over such a short period of time, after being out for more than 7 years. I don't particularly see it as a good indicator when the game's this old, and nexon doesn't even make much effort to account for all the inflation. *cough*housing limit*cough*

I remember when I bought those for merely 200k each and I didn't have no true purpose for them haha.
