For a limited time Google is giving away free Google Carboard (Fake virtual reality things you put your cell phone in) designed after Star wars characters. They are free with free shipping. You can choose from R2-D2, Storm Trooper, Kylo Ren, or BB-8.

They keep running out and then adding more, guess they weren't prepared for the demand, so if the one you want is sold out just check back a little later and it might be restocked.

Unfortunately this does have its downfalls. Not only is it not available but it also gives you the debuff, "storm trooper accuracy" which is a -20 on all attack rolls.

Google Cardboard is fun to try to experience VR, but it's not something you can really keep using as the quality sucks. But it did make me super look forward to getting a proper VR heardset (eg. consumer model of Oculus Rift.)

Ya there's actually a lot of high quality VR headsets out there. Google Cardboard is all right for getting your everday people into VR who might not want to shell out for the expensive stuff.

I really should test out our product we have for VR with google cardboard to see what kind of quality our consumers might be looking at.

Unless I'm missing something isn't Google Cardboard just a box you strap to your head and put your phone in a slot? I'm not seeing how that's really VR. Just sounds like a way to watch movies on your phone without your hands getting tired. Lol.

That's just one side of the equation. The other side of the equation is the VR videos. There's a set of technology involved in making videos specific for those things. It's called 360 videos and the setup I'm familiar with involve a lot of go pro cameras setup around the room you are shooting the video in. It's actually quite fascinating, even in the context of adult entertainment, the kinds of things going on to make that happen.
