Resetting Secondary Password Is Broken

This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. So i havent been on mabi in a long time so when i got on surprise surprise i forgot my secondary passowrd (genius idea Nexon). So i went on the main website to reset my secondary password and i didnt work.

My process:

Logged in under account management and clicked reset secondary password button

Verified via email verification

Then i was redirected to account management and i was told that my secondary password has been reset

...okay? Whats my secondary password then? I launched mabi and it prompted a secondary password that I dont fkkin remember or have. I checked my email (its been a day mind you all) and theres no email telling me my secondary password. I tried my nexon password too. Now my account is locked until i reset my secondary password which ive already done twice!

to sum this all up, how do i reset my secondary password and actually get a secondary password.
I went to here because Nexon has terrible customer service and will never get back to me.

Last time I had to mess with the second password thing I noticed that the process had changed since the time before. I think they send an email to verify and you have to follow the link. Once reset, the second password is simply entered in the game login. It's possible that they changed the process again, I'll take a look in a few hours.

My problem now is that its telling me that ive tried too many times and i have to go to the main website to reset it which i already have upon receiving the message. I dont understand what im supposed to do. And to top it all off i remember my old secondary password now, i wrote it on my notepad so i wouldnt forget god damn it.

If you go to the Website and reset it there it should send a verification Link to the registred E-mail adress.

Under Support choose "Secondary Password"
Press the big Gray "Reset my Secondary Password" Button.

This should send a Request to the registred E-Mail to 'reset' the Secondary password. please note that Reset simply means to remove it. it'll prompt you to put one in when you log in, it's possible it won't accept the old one again so better get a new one.

Hm a few Questions, they're serious and i'm not doubting you but i just wanna make sure

1. Are you 100% sure this is your main?
1.2. Did you ever entrust someone with your Login Name, Password and 2ndary Password?

2. How many character cards are there?

The reasons i'm asking this is that you wouldn't be the first to accidently log on an Alt for whatever reason, even an Alt that you created but never used.
Also there's a high possibility that if you entrusted anyone with your data and made that person mad or they're just a jackass they went, cleared your account and deleted all your characters and pets.

the third, also possible reason could be that you've fallen victim to a hacker and that hacker cleared anything worthwhile and decided to also delete every character and Pet you had.

Seriously tho, it may or may not take a while but in this regard the only ones able to help you is Nexon.
If you're 100% sure this is indeed your main i suggest you contact Nexon and see if they can somehow do something for you chances however are that there's nothing that can be done.
This isn't Nexon's fault tho as many MMOs only keep backup data for so long and at some point delete them, This happens in as good as any MMO as they need that server space for the actual Game content which isn't getting smaller, i'm not sure how long Nexon keeps Backup data (i know they do have some) but i assume not longer than the European Provider for TERA which keeps old Backup data for 10 Maintenances, given you've said you didn't log in for a very long time the chances there's still backup data for that are extremely low.

If you for whatever reason have doubts this is your actual main there's an easy way to find out. Check the Transaction Log on the Nexon Website, any Cash Shop transaction will be there, if there's nothing there's a 99,9% chance you're looking at the wrong account (Mine dates back to when i started so yours should be there too.)

Thanks for the help. It was my main 100% but i fixed the problem...
I uninstalled and reinstalled my nexon launcher
Even though my Nexon launcher was logged in to my main account (believe me i checked and relogged multiple times, main website and launcher), it still somehow fixed the problem when i reinstalled the launcher... so whatever confusing as it is i'm on my account so i dont care.

Consider this problem solved and thanks for the help!

Well, I never use Nexon Launcher because it is so f**k up. Last time I try to update my game, when updated the game start-up and disappear without reason.

So, I try again... didn't do anything... Try uninstall and reinstall the whole game... Nope, still didn't work... Ok, uninstall the Nexon Launcher and start the game from the Mabinogi patcher... It is appear that the patcher work perfectly fine and download the patch properly, as I say properly it is mean that Nexon Launcher did not download the latest patch and make the game broke.

Also, you don't need Nexon Launcher for the game to properly work. The game itself came with patcher and log-in screen that work 100%. You can just use Nexon Launcher to download the game and forget it forever lol.
