I'm assuming they are doing it on a Monday instead of a Wednesday due to holidays. Wouldn't be surprised if Nexon took off Thursday/Friday. I hope this comes with the new partner :skip:

So there's a month for the whole Samhain event, not just the first part. Nice.
Also, I really appreciate the fact they are including other time zones in their announcements now.

As if I didn't have enough problems staying connected nowadays.

In the past that black cipher shit would detect tools I use every day for work like vmware and putty as "security threats" so I'm not even going to try.
Not that I was really planning to, but this gives me even less motivation.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nexon thought all programmers, sys admins, and dev ops were "security threats".
Can't be having people gather intel or information. No, that would be all bad. *rolls eyes*
Nexon's anti modding and anti data mining is retardedly ridiculous. I don't think I've seen any gaming company as paranoid as they are about finding data about the game. I highly doubt they are that protective over user data >.>

Too bad I haven't found a way to run the client sandboxed, that'd solve a few issues.

its not paranoia if they really are out to get you :)

NGS is such a pain.
I've had a few crashes now which would have never happened before it was introduced.
- Skipping cutscenes sometimes completely lock up mabi and there is no fix apart from ending task.
- Just now I went to drop an item on the floor and mabi just crashed right there and then.
On the flip side I seem to lag less than before so I don't really know what to think. The crashing is super annoying though.

Seems to periodically (every minute or so) poll for active programs it doesn't like.
Wasn't even attached or anything this time and it crapped itself.
EDIT: Renamed some exes. Attached. Read data. Injected code. Attached debugger. Set breakpoint on execute. Broke, resumed. Still connected.
So uh. It appears to just check running programs for certain executable names. That's weak, but at least it actually attempts to do something right now.
