Someone showed me this game.
I knew what I had to do next.

Speaking of admin making things. How's that script change coming along?

I thought I already posted about it in a reply somewhere last year or maybe it was on skype. Nation is staying as-is. There's no logical reason to change it. If by some completely unexpected divine miracle activity levels return to what it was in the old days I'll reconsider it. For now seeing as it's a ghost town, and I removed all ads from it and host it from my house, all I'm doing in regards to nation is keeping it online as a resource for whoever wants to use it (and for when/if I gain any interest in mabi).

it`s kinda sad to see the game and community slowly die like that.

I already studied that possibility. Social media like reddit and facebook is making it useless to have non-niche forums.
In regards to mabi there isn't much more we can do. Activity is based on people's interest in the game, and a percentage of those interested people care enough to use a forum.

Well my attachment to nation has always been broader range. I check a lot of the other sections personally. I also use this as a means to communicate things with my minecraft server.
Let's not forget there's Herro's community nights. All great starts to expanding beyond the narrow stupidity that is Mabinogi. Mabinogi is way past it's prime, we really should broaden our horizons. It's something Arisk suggested ages ago >.>

Well at this point its not about gaining a ton of new people, and more like trying to rekindle the interest of older forum users that used to visit the site and those that are losing interest. If this site can grab even a fraction of its old population back it would definitely be worth it to me.

Sadly it was already attempted and failed horribly. You joined in 2010 so you might remember when we had game-specific website sections for both nexon and non-nexon games based on community requests. Activity in those sections was so low, and the ones that did have interest just made one big "official XYZ thread" everyone posted in instead of using the section.
As for regaining the interest of older members I don't really see what we as a community can do. Trying to branch off from mabinogi when the website activity was at it's peak didn't work, so I don't see it going any differently now when it's a ghost town.
As for actual mabinogi related stuff, we're not nexon so we can't magically create new content people would be interested in. The only mabinogi content we don't allow is mods, and even if that would bring in a bit more interest from new and/or old members I rather not touch that with a 10 foot internet-pole.

Well honestly the window of opportunity might have closed by now, but considering how back then mabi was still really popular I can see other game sections being neglected, but now or maybe a few months ago considering how many people have moved onto different games it might be a bit more successful now. But like I said, honestly the window of opportunity on that chance might have passed since nation has been dead for a while now.

I think the only way we could expand the site is if Nexon suddenly came out with a real Mabinogi 2. Then we could use the interest from existing players to build upon the activity of the site.
Sadly the only time they considered that it got cancelled. :c

Osay I remember you said you bought a wiki site? Just make that site the source of all guides for MMOs and I think it will be great. Everytime I try to find a guide on character when I play a new MMO. So a site like that would be popular I feel.

There's always Peria Chronicles left. If it ever comes out, which I'm starting to doubt as it appears to be suffering from what I've just named
DevCat Scope Issue (I know PC is not being made by them, it's just a name) - creating something while you don't have the proper resources to do so.
One big problem Nation is facing is lack of recognition. Being somewhat banned by Nexon there's no way for an average player to be aware of this website unless they stumble upon it by chance or get recommended by an existing member. Not sure what to do about that though.
